Radiation treatment, earlier commonly referred to as “current treatment,” is a modern medical therapy used mainly to treat cancer. It works similar to an X-ray, using high-energy rays to target and destroy abnormal cells while protecting surrounding healthy tissue.
During the procedure, the patient usually stands or lies in front of a specialized machine that delivers radiation precisely to the affected area. Each session typically lasts about 10–15 minutes and is completely painless. The treatment is usually given over a course of around 25 days, depending on the condition and doctor’s advice. Radiation therapy is safe, carefully planned, and monitored by trained specialists for effective results.
