First Prize was awarded in the Research Poster Presentation category at VEDAM, presented by Ms.Harleen Kaur (2021 MBBS Batch), held in Manipal from 13–16 December 2025.

The winning poster, titled “Psychological Distress and Health-Related Quality of Life Among Cancer Patients Receiving Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy,” evaluated psychological distress and health-related quality of life among cancer patients receiving active treatment.

The study assessed key psychosocial and functional domains to characterize the burden associated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy, identifying clinically relevant patterns that can inform early supportive interventions. The findings emphasize the importance of routine distress screening and structured psychosocial support as part of comprehensive oncology care, with implications for improving patient experience, adherence, and overall treatment outcomes.
