Melioidosis: The bug beneath your feet !!!

The first case of melioidosis reported from Gujarat. It happened because one of the clinical microbiologist trained at Kasturba Medical College Manipal could diagnose the case there. The isolate was confirmed by CETD, MAHE.
This is not just the only case but there are many more cases we have witnessed from Gujarat in last two years from the same center.
A disease misdiagnosed and underestimated throughout the country.
