I want to say something important to every woman reading this:

Your strength is not just in how much you endure.
It’s also in how honestly you feel,
how bravely you speak and
how courageously you seek help when needed.

Behind many strong women I meet in my clinic are stories of
Silent Anxiety,
Hidden Burnout,
Emotional Exhaustion and
Unspoken Trauma.

And yet… they show up.
For their families.
For their work.
For everyone around them.

But today is a reminder:

Therapy isnt a software update you install in one session 🧠💻

Most people walk into psychiatrist thinking:
“Doctor, just fix my anxiety / trauma / overthinking”
But healing doesnt work like that.

Real therapy looks more like this:
✓ Sessions of reflection.
✓ Journaling things you never said out loud.
✓ Crying over memories you buried.
✓ Slowly understanding your patterns.

Because trauma isnt a file you can uninstall.
Its a story your brain learned to survive with.
And healing?
That’s the process of rewriting that story.

Therapy isn’t magic.
Its science + honesty + uncomfortable growth.

The people who heal arent the ones looking for shortcuts.
They are the ones willing to do the inner work.

A first-year resident lost his life nd that matters.
But we may never know the exact reason

Su***de is never one bad day.
It is often the end point of weeks or months of silent distress.
The first months of residency are not just academically hard they are psychologically destabilising.

Sudden responsibility.
Sleep deprivation.
Fear of mistakes.

A culture that praises endurance but ignores emotional pain.
Surgical branches add another layer physical exhaustion, performance pressure and the unspoken rule: “Don’t complain”

Doctors are trained to treat pain but trained even harder to hide their own.

If you are a resident and struggling:
It does NOT mean you are weak.
It means the system is demanding more than one nervous system can safely carry.

Mental health support during residency is not a luxury.
It is life-saving infrastructure.

Check on your juniors.
Check on your colleagues.

Pain is not a competition.
Your struggles dont disappear just because someone else is struggling more.
Mental health doesnt work on comparison.

Your brain responds to your stress, your capacity, your life.
Invalidating your own feelings doesnt make you strong.
It just delays healing.

You are allowed to hurt even if someone else is hurting too.
Both can exist.
