Not every “healthy” food is kidney-friendly. Some foods that seem great for the average person can be harmful for Kidney Patients because of high potassium, sodium, or phosphorus levels.
Here are 7 surprising foods Kidney Patients should be careful with 👇
⚠️ 1. Bananas
Too much potassium — can cause heart rhythm issues in CKD.
⚠️ 2. Coconut water
Very high potassium — unhealthy for weak kidneys.
⚠️ 3. Tomatoes
Healthy, but high in potassium and acidity.
⚠️ 4. Avocados
A “superfood,” but dangerously high in potassium.
⚠️ 5. Spinach
Turns into high oxalate load — increases stone risk.
⚠️ 6. Brown rice
More potassium & phosphorus than white rice.
⚠️ 7. Milk & paneer
High phosphorus — can worsen kidney workload.
💚 Kidney-friendly doesn’t always mean “healthy.” Always check potassium, sodium, and phosphorus levels.
