Menopause & Osteoarthritis – The Missing Link Most Women Aren’t Told
Have you noticed your joint pain, knee stiffness, or cracking joints worsen around menopause?
Many women are told it’s “just aging” — but there’s more to it.
During menopause, estrogen levels decline. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this increases Vata dosha, which governs dryness, degeneration, and joint lubrication.
This is why osteoarthritis often appears or accelerates after 40–45, even in women who were active and healthy before.
Painkillers may reduce pain temporarily, but they don’t address the root cause.
Ayurveda focuses on:
• Calming aggravated Vata
• Nourishing joints from within
• Supporting the body during hormonal transition
Simple starting tips:
1. Warm oil massage (especially knees & lower back) Mahanarayan taila https://amzn.to/3ZhLurz or Sesame oil https://amzn.to/4qedQhq
2. Warm, cooked, nourishing foods
3. Avoid excess cold, dry, and raw foods
If your joint pain started or worsened around menopause, you’re not alone.
