Paired Kidney exchange is the most effective way of circumventing the mismatched donors in kidney transplant. Approximately one third of patients approaching our transplant clinic are denied the benefits of a life saving transplant due to a poor match with their legitimate family donor. In our continuous efforts to gear up the swap transplant in the country, we were fortunate enough to get a humanitarian treat when we got a chance to be a part of a swap in which a Muslim familiy saved life of a Hindu family and vice versa by means of such a inter-religious kidney swap. It brings us more closer to the almighty and reflects the true culture diversity of INDIA.The iKidney app has helped several kidney failure patients help find a matching donor.

Kindly see and share the exciting story about the kidney transplant in which the only legitimate donor in the family has a tumor in the kidney and is not able to donate a kidney to her ailing husband, who is struggling for life on dialysis. We went ahead removed the same kidney, excised the tumor and then transplanted the kidney after reconstructing the pelvicalyceal tree of the kidney. The kidney functions well after almost an year of follow up. Such challenges are really important in lives of surgeons which push their capabilities to the next level.
