Shoulder Rehab / Injury Prevention

When it comes to shoulders, Exercise Rehabilitation is incredibly important.
These physiotherapy based exercises are designed to prevent (reduce the risk) of injuries and improve physical readiness for specific activities.
Remember, the shoulder joint as far more than just Rotation 👀
So, here's 6 exercise options along with a few reasons why it's important to include them:

1️⃣Scapula Health

The scapula (shoulder blade) is crucial for shoulder health due to its role in supporting and stabilising the shoulder joint.
It provides a stable foundation for the muscles that control shoulder movement.
It serves as an attachment point for several muscles involved in shoulder function, including the rotator cuff muscles and the muscles of the upper back.
Therefore, optimal scapular health & movement is necessary for achieving full ROM of the joint.

2️⃣Upper Back Muscles

Strong upper back muscles help transmit forces generated by the arms and upper body through the shoulder joint and into the trunk.
This enhances stability and power generation during activities such as pushing, pulling, and lifting, reducing stress on the shoulder joint and surrounding structures.

3️⃣Thoracic Mobility

The thoracic spine directly influencers shoulder range of motion.
A lack of thoracic mobility can restrict the ability of the shoulder blades to move freely, limiting shoulder movement.
Improving thoracic mobility can help restore full ROM in the shoulder joint, reducing the risk of injuries and enhancing shoulder function.
