He is one of the top 0.5 percent scientists in the world in Internal Medicine. He is a well known Endocrinologist at Joshi Clinic, Lilavati Hospital and Sir HN Reliance Hospital. He has more than 800 research publications and 100 books to his credit. He is the Past Dean of Indian College of Physicans, Past President of Endocrine Society of India, Association of Physicians of India and many other medical societies. He is also the Founder Vice President of PCOS society. He has been conferred with "Padma Shri" by Government of India in 2014

He is also Past President, RSSDI (Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India 2011), Past President, AIAARO (All India Association of Advancement for Research in Obesity), Past Chapter Chair, India AACE and Past President, International College of Nutrition
