International Women’s Day | Team FDP Mankhurd ✨

Under the Family Development Programme (FDP) & Women Empowerment Programme, we celebrated Women’s Day with the theme: “Recognizing Your Identity and Speaking Up for Yourself.”

With 30 women coming together, the session highlighted a powerful truth—our identity and voice matter. Through interactive activities, we encouraged women to express themselves, because silence holds us back, but speaking up creates change. 💫
We were honored to have Ethel Madam with us, who felicitated five inspiring women:

🌸 Khalida Shaikh
Khalida moved to a new area facing financial struggles. Despite being a skilled tailor, she lacked connections, and her son had dropped out of school due to drug addiction. With FDP support, she rebuilt her tailoring business, and her son is now back in school and addiction-free.

🌸 Ruksar Javed Khan
A survivor of domestic abuse, Ruksar left her husband and chose to fight for justice. Despite fear and lack of support, she stayed strong with guidance from FDP. Today, she is financially independent and continues her legal battle with confidence.

🌸 Jananutisa Qureshi
A single mother of two, Janatunisa left an abusive marriage and fought for her children’s safety. Despite threats and challenges, she secured their custody and now earns through home-based jewelry work, ensuring a stable future.

🌸 Madhuri Jaiswal
Once confined to her home after marriage, Madhuri struggled to regain her independence. With FDP’s support, she built confidence and communicated her needs. Today, she is working and has reclaimed her identity.

🌸 Jainab Ansari
Jainab silently endured domestic violence for years. With FDP’s guidance, she took a stand and sought police help. This step transformed her life—today, she lives with dignity, respect, and safety.

On World Tuberculosis Day, 24th March 2026, Lok Seva Sangam (LSS) conducted a meaningful awareness initiative across Kurla and Bail Bazar districts. Since 2003, LSS has been actively running its Tuberculosis Project, reaching and treating countless patients through years of dedicated effort.

To mark the occasion, a Walkathon for community awareness was organized, bringing people together to raise awareness about TB and reduce stigma. A special felicitation ceremony for TB Peer Motivators (Champions) was also held, recognising TB survivors who shared their inspiring journeys. Their stories help build confidence among patients currently undergoing treatment, reinforcing that recovery is possible.

Together, we continue to spread awareness, fight stigma, and move closer to a TB-free future.

Our two-day residential training program brought together 27 dedicated participants—including volunteers, field supervisors, doctors, and project team members—with one shared goal: strengthening the fight against leprosy.

This training was conducted under the project “Leprosy Detection and Treatment at Community Level in Wards of Mumbai”, supported by

The program focused on building awareness, enabling early case detection, and enhancing skills in reporting, referral systems, and the use of digital survey tools. Through interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, field simulations, and expert guidance, participants gained hands-on experience and confidence to work effectively at the grassroots level.

From understanding deformity assessment to learning nerve palpation techniques and using mobile-based applications, every session was designed to be practical, impactful, and easy to implement in the field.

A total of 27 participants came together to learn and grow, and the training concluded successfully with certificate distribution—marking not just the end of the program, but the beginning of stronger, more informed community action.

Together, we move one step closer to early detection, better care, and a leprosy-free future.

Healthy children learn better. 🌱

Lok Seva Sangam organizes full-body medical check-up camps at our Mumbai and Jaipur education centres for pre-primary students. Many of these children rarely have access to regular health screenings, and through this initiative we ensure that their health is cared for alongside their education.

Because a healthy child is the first step towards a brighter future. 💙

Our pre-primary and tutorial students at Lok Seva Sangam celebrated Holi in the most beautiful way through creativity, laughter, and togetherness. From drawing vibrant Holi scenes with colourful crayons to exploring thumb and palm painting, our little artists turned simple sheets of paper into masterpieces full of imagination.

The excitement grew even more as they safely played with colours, sharing giggles and gently applying colours to one another. Through this celebration, our children didn’t just enjoy a festival — they learned important values of unity, sharing, kindness, and happiness. Holi became a lesson in love, creativity, and community spirit.

A day full of colour, connection, and countless smiles at Lok Seva Sangam 💛
