𝗙𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘 𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗧'𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘.

1️⃣ If you are afraid of the dentist or have had negative experiences in the past, it is important not to share those feelings with your child.

2️⃣ If the idea of seeing your child in a dentist’s chair receiving treatment makes you nervous, it is probably better to stay in the waiting room during the appointment.

3️⃣ Doing so could create a needless sense of fear in your child that will make it harder for him or her to receive necessary dental care.

4️⃣ Talk to your child about the dentist in a positive way, and never mention shots or pain.

5️⃣ Tell your child that the dentist will help him or her have a bright, healthy smile.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹.𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗢 :

1️⃣ We begin with a tour of our dental office. Once the kid is comfortable we take them on a ride in our dental chair.

2️⃣ The first dental visit is usually short and involves very little treatment. This visit gives your child an opportunity to meet the dentist in a non- threatening and friendly way.


3️⃣ Its important to know that the parent or legal guardian who accompanies the child for the first visit be asked to complete medical and health information forms concerning the child.

4️⃣ During the examination, the Pediatric Dentist will check all your child’s existing teeth any potential problems with the teeth, gums, oral tissues and the jaws.

5️⃣ We educate parents about oral health care basics for children and discuss dental developmental issues and answer any questions.

6️⃣ We also review the importance of maintaining a good dental health to ensure a healthy and beautiful smile for life!

7️⃣ Lastly, the child’s visit ends with some surprise goodies.

Does Your Child Have a Double Row of "Shark Teeth?" Learn More Here 👇🏼

We get all kinds of questions as you can imagine, but the one we’re about to post here was one of the most unusual.

🦈 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘀 𝗜𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵??

〰️ If humans get double teeth from time to time, spare a thought for the shark.

〰️ Sharks average 15 rows of teeth in each jaw and in a lifetime will shed thousands of teeth.

〰️ Sharks are born with complete sets of teeth and do not suffer from cavities.

🦈 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻??
〰️ This occurrence is widespread and it happens if the permanent tooth does not grow in directly underneath the baby tooth.

〰️ Because the two teeth are not aligned in the socket, the replacement tooth is unable to push out the one that it should be replacing.

〰️ It then takes the easier route and grows behind the baby teeth, causing the baby tooth root to take longer to dissolve, and the child is left with two sets of teeth.

🦈 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗔 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺??

〰️ Most commonly it occurs on the lower front teeth (incisors) between the ages of five and seven, but can also happen with other teeth in the mouth.

〰️ For most children, having a second row of teeth will be temporary, as the baby tooth will gradually fall out on their own.

〰️ If, however, the baby teeth do not naturally loosen, we would probably recommend extraction so that the permanent tooth can grow into its proper position.

〰️ Usually, this decision would be made when the permanent incisor is at least halfway erupted, and the baby tooth is not getting looser over time.

Why Can’t one Stop Craving Sugar?
One of the main issues with sugar is that it tastes good. As humans, we’re wired to seek pleasure and reward.

Sugar, in all its forms, has this feedback loop all worked out.  When something sweet lands on our tongue and sends a message to our brain, Dopamine, the feel-good chemical, is released into our bloodstream.

Simply put, when we eat sugar, we feel good. And no matter how old we are this desire for sweetness never leaves us.

However, sugar, no matter what our age or stage of life, has a consistently negative influence on our teeth. 

Don’t let hidden sugar win!

HOW TO COMBAT THE IMPACT OF SUGAR:
* Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste.
* Clean between your teeth daily using floss or interdental brushes.
* Eat a healthy, balanced diet and limit sugar intake.
* Visit the dentist regularly for check-ups and preventive care.
* Choose foods with less than 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams.
* Look out for hidden sugars when purchasing foods and drinks.
