Did you know there is more than one type of hearing loss?

A conductive loss can be cured with the help of medication and/or surgical intervention, Examples include hearing loss due to ear discharge, fluid in the ear, ear drum perforation, etc.

A sensorineural loss, however, can't be reversed and would require the use of hearing aids. Examples of this include hearing loss due to age, consumption of certain medicines, excessive use of earphones or exposure to loud noise, etc.

A mixed hearing loss has both the above components. A team approach between the ENT and the Audiologist is advised for such cases.

Have your hearing checked by an Audiologist if you want to find out the type and degree of your hearing loss. DM us with your queries!

Acceptance is the key if you want to hear well and prevent any further deterioration in your hearing.

Get yourself tested if you feel like you have a hearing loss. Delaying will only make things worse.
