In the episode of the CSConnection Podcast titled Pathways to Supervisee and Supervisor Identity Development, Dr. Chetna Duggal, Project Director at Rahbar, TISS, reflects on the evolving landscape of supervision in India.

Drawing from over two decades of experience, she explores how supervision can be a space for support and advocacy for practitioners—especially in making supervision responsive to diverse cultures, contexts and communities.

Dr. Duggal speaks about navigating multiple roles as a supervisor, building systems that integrate supervision into mental health practice, and fostering mutual learning through reflection and feedback.

From 8–12 September 2025, Rahbar hosted the in-person module of the Post Graduate Diploma in Supervision for Mental Health Practice at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai campus— a space for reflection, learning, and connection.

Over five days, participants explored supervision frameworks, skills practice, and relational approaches through role plays and reflective dialogue.
It was a week of deep listening, shared stories, and collective growth — building a community of practitioners committed to holding space for those who heal.

A heartfelt thank you to our participants and team who made this journey meaningful!

Announcing the 4th batch of TISS and Rahbar’s flagship course : The PG Diploma in Supervision for Mental Health Practice

*
Recognising the gap in India in terms of access to good quality supervision to support mental health professionals through their professional journeys, this course was developed keeping international competency frameworks and sociocultural considerations in mind. We take pride in knowing that supervisors who have graduated from this programme have been supporting psychotherapists in diverse contexts across India, Dubai, Singapore and New Zealand.
*
This is the only intensive supervisor training and certification programme in India and is pantheoretical in its approach. The programme focuses on reflective practice, trauma focused and social justice oriented lenses in Supervision for therapists of all theoretical orientations.
*
We invite applicants (senior psychotherapists who are currently supervising or wish to take up supervisory roles) to take their journeys as supervisors forward with us..

Details available on the TISS admissions website.
