Signs & Symptoms of Colore**al Polyps - What to watch for

• Per‑re**al bleeding - small amounts of blood mixed with or covering stools
• Mucous discharge with stools - may make stools looser or look like mild diarrhea
• Most polyps cause no symptoms at all

Important: Polyps removed at colonoscopy are sent for histopathology to identify the type and guide how often surveillance colonoscopy is needed. If a polyp is precancerous or cancerous, additional treatment (for example surgery) may be required.
