Su***de is not about wanting to die — it’s about wanting the pain to stop.
Every 40 seconds, someone in the world dies by su***de.
Behind each number is a story, a family, and a community left in pain.
🌍 On World Su***de Prevention Day, I was honored to be a panelist alongside an esteemed team of Naval professionals, discussing ways to prevent su***de,strengthen resilience and respond with compassion and hope.
One of the key tools I shared was the Safety Toolbox — a simple, personal plan that can make all the difference in moments of crisis.
The Safety Toolbox includes:
✔️ Recognizing warning signs
✔️Immediate coping steps (breathing, grounding, safe distractions)
✔️ Trusted people & safe places to reach out to
✔️ Helplines & professional support
✔️ A written plan you can keep handy
To make this practical, I’ve created a Safety Plan Template & Checklist that you can use for yourself or share with someone in need.
💬 Comment PLAN below and I’ll send it to you.
And remember: If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please call your local emergency number right away.
Together, let’s break the silence, raise awareness, and remind each other: You are not alone.
