A Major Milestone for Healthcare Safety 🚩
We are proud to share that the National Private Bill for the Prevention of Assault on Healthcare & Safe Patient Care has been introduced in Parliament.
This is a significant achievement and it happened in just two days.
While we now await the next steps, this moment marks real progress in a long and urgent fight.

A Voice for Patient & Doctor Safety in Parliament 🇮🇳
MedscapeIndia – A***n Medical & Educational Trust is honoured to share that during our recent Delhi visit, our Chairperson, Dr Sunita Dube, met Hon’ble Shri Laxmikant Bajpai Ji, MP from Meerut, whose interventions in Parliament including raising the matter during Zero Hour have strongly called for a single national law to protect both patients and doctors equally.
In our discussion, Shri Bajpai Ji spoke with genuine concern for patient care and healthcare professional safety, recognising that these are two sides of the same coin. He deeply appreciated MedscapeIndia’s 2.5-year nationwide campaign, our innovative approach, and the way we have united 57+ national medical bodies, 8,000+ medical institutions, and millions of healthcare professionals under one banner of solidarity.
As an Ayurvedic doctor himself, Shri Bajpai Ji understands the challenges of those who serve in healthcare. His commitment, integrity, and active support are deeply valued by the entire medical fraternity. We hold him in the highest regard for his dedication to both the well-being of patients and the dignity of doctors.

Visionary Leadership for a Safer Healthcare Nation 🇮🇳
MedscapeIndia – A***n Medical & Educational Trust proudly shares that during our recent visit to Delhi, our Chairperson, Dr Sunita Dube, had the honour of meeting Hon’ble Shri Sharad Pawar Ji, whose visionary leadership has left a lasting impact on national policy, women’s empowerment, and the lives of millions during his distinguished public service, including his tenure as Chief Minister and Union Minister.
In this meeting, Dr Sunita Dube presented the urgent need for a National Healthcare Safety Provision to ensure the dignity, safety, and security of doctors, nurses, and all healthcare workers, and to protect patients by creating a safe and secure environment for care.
Shri Sharad Pawar Ji listened with deep understanding, reaffirming that when it is for the nation and the community, it must benefit the people at large. He assured that his office would extend full cooperation to help advance this vital cause, working towards a permanent solution to prevent assaults on healthcare professionals and strengthen the doctor–patient relationship.
We express our heartfelt appreciation to Shri Sharad Pawar Ji for his proactive support, and also acknowledge the encouragement received from senior NCP leaders including former health minister of Maharashtra. As a respected and dynamic leader from Bihara state that has witnessed serious challenges and incidents affecting healthcare professionals Shri Satish Chandra Dubey Ji listened with deep attention to the ongoing national effort for healthcare safety. Building on the points shared in our meetings with other leaders, he expressed his full support for MedscapeIndia’s mission to protect doctors and empower patient care across India.
