ALCOHOL AND ITS BAD EFFECTS ON YOUR BODY

DRINKING DURING PREGNANCY : The effects of alcohol last longer in pregnancy. This is partly because its absorption from the gut wall becomes slower and also because some alcohol is stored in fat released later, and fat stores increase in pregnancy.

After a drink, alcohol is distributed around the body and passes into tissues containing water. A pregnant women carries an extra 6 litres (10 and half pints) of water in tissue fluids, giving alcohol much more room to be distributed in, which can make her feel less effect from a drink. But even if you have a high tolerance of alcohol, don’t make the mistake of thinking that your baby will have a similar tolerance.

Any alcohol that a mother drinks while she is pregnant will cross the placenta and pass on to her baby. Just link his mother, an unborn baby will only be able to get rid of alcohol by breaking it down with enzymes in the liver. Unfortunately, a young foetus has no liver until it is about eight weeks old and, even then, it is very immature and incapable of converting alcohol as efficiently as a fully developed liver. As a result, the foetus takes about twice as long as his mother to be free of the effects of any alcohol she drinks.

Plan Your Pregnancy !!!

● Talk with your partner about the implications of parenthood and make sure that you are both happy to start a family.

● Allow at least three months to get fit and improve your lifestyle.

● Consider any previous or long-term health problems.

● If you had problems in a previous pregnancy for example, pre- eclampsia, talk to your doctor.

● If you need to take medication, make sure your doctor knows you are planning to get pregnant.

● Allow sufficient time to pass since an earlier conception or pregnancy.

● See a genetic counsellor if you are worried about inherited diseases in either side of your families or you have had repeated miscarriages.

● Have a blood test to see if you are immune to rubella and toxoplasmosis.

● Check your blood group. If you are rhesus negative, check with your doctor about treatment at birth or if you should bleed in pregnancy.

● Make sure you are not anaemic. If you are, treat this before you become pregnant.

● If you have irregular periods, check that your thyroid function is normal.

● Have a cervical smear to confirm that your cervix is healthy.

● If you have been at risk of an STD infection, visit a GU clinic for a check-up and complete any treatment before trying to conceive.

Why you should have a breakfast?

1 .WAKE UP, BODY !!
With no food and water intake during sleep , your body’s decreased activity also causes blood sugar level to drop. When you wake in the morning, it is the low blood sugar level that affects your energy levels. Get out of hibernation mode with a hearty breakfast. Eating early will keep your insulin and blood sugar levels regulated.

2. Setting the rhythm for the day.
Eating breakfast is the first thing you should do to kick start your metabolism. Metabolism is the speed of your body turning the food you consume into fuel, and this takes place throughout the day.

3. Are you smarter than a non-breakfast eater?

4. Glucose is an essential carbohydrate that promotes brain function. Hungry kid does not learn.

5. Goodbye, binge eating.

6. Breakfast helps you stay fit.
