Dr. Deepti Deshpande recently conducted a Practical Echocardiography Workshop for Small Animal Practitioners, and it was truly heartwarming to see so many veterinarians travel from across India to be a part of it!

The workshop was hosted at IMMAST, which provides state-of-the-art human cardiac simulators—an incredible platform for hands-on learning. Participants had the unique opportunity to practice echocardiography based on differential diagnoses and to observe patterns of cardiac remodeling in various heart diseases. This blend of advanced technology and practical application made it a one-of-a-kind learning experience, enhancing both echocardiography technique and interpretation skills.

A special thanks to Vivaldis for organizing this workshop so seamlessly. The energy, enthusiasm, and active participation of the veterinarians made the event even more engaging and memorable!

Happy to share that I’m stepping into a new teaching role in Cardiac Emergency and Critical Care training.

While large conferences remain valuable for expanding knowledge and upskilling, they sometimes fall short when it comes to addressing individual doubts and delving into finer clinical details.

Vivaldis Animal Health, in collaboration with IIMAST, Mumbai, organized a focused training program on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) — an incredible opportunity to work closely with 22 veterinarians from across the country.

The program included sessions on:

Basic Life Support and Post-Cardiac Arrest Management by the experienced Dr. Makarand Chousalkar

Advanced Life Support and Early Recognition of Cardiopulmonary Arrest, which I had the privilege to conduct.

Thoracic POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) with T-FAST techniques practiced on state of the art simulators.

Participants also had hands-on practice on simulators and dummies to refine their CPR techniques.

It was immensely rewarding to engage with veterinarians in such a focused, interactive setting — equipping them with practical, immediately applicable skills.

Looking forward to expanding these training modules in the future, covering Emergencies, Anaesthesia, and Cardiology.

Here’s to continuous learning and raising the standards of critical care in veterinary medicine!

In a world where Human Electrophysiologists are rare, finding experts in veterinary electrophysiology is close to impossible. Thanks to Prof Roberto Santilli, Prof Sydney Moise, Dr Romain Pariaut and Dr Manuela Perego, I had an opportunity to learn from the best in this field! The Arrhythmia boot camp 2024 was a true step up in my understanding of ECGs and Arrhythmias as also the treatment of some common and not so common arrhythmias in dogs and cats. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and learnt so much!! Thank you Prof Roberto Santilli, Dr Romain Pariaut , Dr. Sydney Moise and Dr Manuela Perego for authoring such fantastic books, they are a true wealth and I can't wait to start reading the new book !

Dr. Deepti Deshpande was recently invited by SAVA Goa to conduct an advanced Cardiology lecture series and ECG workshop following the Basic Cardiology lecture series a few years ago.

It was a pleasure interacting with all the enthusiastic Vets from Goa and most importantly a big thank you to all the organizers of SAVA Goa who took all the efforts to make this conference a huge success.
Last but not the least, a big thank you to our four legged volunteers who calmly sat through the ECG workshop.
