What Causes Anxiety?
Anxiety affects our whole being. It affects how we feel, how we behave and has very real physical symptoms.

It feels a bit like fear but whereas we know what we are frightened of, we often don’t know what we are anxious about.

Mild anxiety is vague and unsettling – severe anxiety can be extremely debilitating.

What causes anxiety?
Anxiety is often triggered by stress in our lives. Some of us are more vulnerable to anxiety than others, but even those who become anxious easily can learn to manage it well. We can also make ourselves anxious with “negative self-talk” – a habit of always telling ourselves the worst will happen.

How will I recognize anxiety?
As well as feeling apprehensive and worried (possibly without knowing why), you may experience some of the following physical symptoms:

Tense muscles
Trembling
Churning stomach
Nausea
Diarrhoea
Headache
Backache
Heart palpitations
Numbness or “pins and needles” in arms, hands or legs
Sweating/flushing
When is anxiety a problem?
We all become anxious from time to time. It becomes a problem when it interferes with life in the absence of real threat, or goes on too long after the danger has past.

What if I just avoid things that make me anxious?
Avoiding situations that make you anxious might help you feel better in the short term. The trouble is the anxiety keeps returning, and has a habit of spreading to other situations. This can lead to you avoiding things like shops, crowded places, lectures or tutorials. So although avoidance makes you feel better –

Relief is only temporary – you may worry about what will happen next time.
Every time you avoid something it is harder next time you try to face it.
Gradually you want to avoid more and more things.
OK, so what else can I do to feel better?
Learn to manage stress in your life. Keep an eye on pressures and deadlines and make a commitment to taking time out from study or work.
Learn a variety of relaxation techniques. Physical relaxation methods and meditation techniques really do help. We have some relaxation tapes at Student Counselling that will help you get started. Health food shops also sell a variety of relaxation tapes.
Look after your physical self. Eat healthily, get regular exercise and try to keep a regular sleep pattern. Avoid alcohol, cannabis and junk food.
Practise deep abdominal breathing. This consists of breathing in deeply and slowly through your nose, taking the air right down to you abdomen. Visualise the air travelling right down to your abdomen and say the word “calm” to yourself as you breathe in. Then breathe out slowly and gently through your mouth. As you breathe out visualise the stress and tension leaving your body with your breath and think the word “relax.” Deliberately let your muscles go floppy as you breathe out. Take three deep breaths at a time. If you breathe deeply for too long you may feel dizzy from the extra oxygen. You can repeat the three breaths after a short time of breathing normally.
Learn to replace “negative self talk” with “coping self talk.” When you catch yourself thinking something negative like “I can’t do this, it’s just too hard,” try to change it to something more positive, like “This is hard but I can get through it.” It can be helpful to think of “changing the tape” that runs through your mind. It is useful to make a list of the negative thoughts you often have and write a list of positive, believable thoughts to replace them.
Anxiety can be exhausting and debilitating. Don’t suffer alone for too long. It often helps to talk to a Counsellor or Psychologist, who can help you find ways to deal with stress in your life and teach you skills to manage anxiety.

*12 Types Of Pain That Are Directly Linked To Emotional States*

According to:
Dr. Susan Babel , Psychologist:- Emotions do Affect Chronic Pain.
She says that chronic pain, beside physical injury, may be caused by stress and emotional issues.

Let’s take a look at what pain in a particular area of your body indicates:

*Head*
Headaches can be caused by stress life. If someone has chronic headaches she/he needs to grab some time for themselves on daily basis. Relaxing may help you to relieve your body from the head pain.

*Neck*
Neck pain implies the need to forgive. It may be to forgive yourself or to forgive some other person. It is very important to focus on things that you love about yourself or what others love in you.

*Shoulders*
Pain in the shoulders is sign that person carries a heavy emotional burden. Shoulders carry everything. To solve this problem share the load with friends or family.

*Upper Back*
Upper back pain manifests lack of emotional support. Probably the person is holding back feelings or doesn’t feel appreciated. Just talk about your feelings with your partner or close friend.

*Lower Back*
Pain in the lower back shows that person has financial worries. Sit down and focus on managing money.

*Elbows*
Elbow and arm pain signifies a lack of flexibility. Try not to resist the natural changes in your life.

*Hands*
Pain in the hands may be caused by a lack of friends. Try to meet new people.

*Hips*
Fear of change, moving or waiting on a big decision can cause the hip pain. Make the changes step by step.

*Knees*
Pain in the knee is a sign of high self-esteem. Maybe you should try to do some volunteering work and remember no one is perfect.

*Calves*
Calf pain is caused by stress, emotional tension or jealousy. Maybe it is time to let go the jealousy or any big stressor in your life.

*Ankles*
Pain in the ankle means that you need more pleasure in your life. Try to enjoy the little things and every moment in your life.

*Feet*
Foot pain occurs if you fight with depression. Depression is a specific disease, but for a start try to find a new hobby or just adopt a pet.

Friends this concept is scientifically proven so before adopting medicine or concern for the doctor, give some time and observe your thought ...it heals you automatically😊👍🌹

THE PAST SPEAKS LOUDER....IN THE SUFFERINGS THAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING IN THE PRESENT

As a Bach Therapists, it is imperative, that we indicate to the people who come to us for healing (in the second or third sitting, perhaps, not the first) as to what are the 'karmic' aspects that are responsibile for their suffering and why those aspects of their life are a tad difficult to address and free them from.

A friend of mine, who was taking Bach remedies from me, mentioned jokingly "Can your 'Abundance & Prosperity' remedy get me back all the money that i have lost?" I remember saying, "No, it won't.... as there is a lot of karma of past life sitting there."

Luckily, he took my comment quite seriously and visited a person who was well-versed in 'Nadis', a kind of ancient system of astrological prediction. The Nadi pundit told him that in his past life he was a temple priest, who took to lending money and gold to poor people against having their lands transferred in his name, as a guarantee, till such time as they could not return the loan. The poor farmers could never return the loan...and had to forfeit their lands, eventually.

The advantage of all this was that my friend realized that there was no point in ranting....and cursing all those people who had duped him in land transactions, nor go about cursing his fate, nor holler at every estate agent and narrate to him the whole story of where all his money had gone down the drain. The usual poor me stuff and how the whole world has conspired against me attitude. By becoming a 'toxic' person, as such, he was merely adding to his karma.

Being a wise man by nature, he realized that what was happening in his life was merely celestial justice: settling of dues. So he chose to forgive, ask for forgiveness, forgive himself for the mistakes made unknowingly, and even send loving energies to all those people against whom he bore severe grudges earlier on.

With Willow and a few other remedies, he got cleared of his karmic backlog...and now feels such immense gratitude towards Existence for the insight it gave him on how he was being, in his past and present life.

As Therapists, we need to see, especially, where there is more 'stuckness' in the 'patients' and gently suggest them the possibilities that could have caused them, which they may be ignorant of and blind to. The unwritten divine tenets we have strayed away from...does become a cause of our suffering.

While healing with this modality, therefore, we cannot chose to ignore the spiritual angle, for that is the bedrock on which this therapy rests...a philosophy Dr.Edward Bach himself propounded thru his books and lectures.

Ensure you get lucky
December 22, 2019, 11:09 PM IST Economic Times in The Speaking Tree | Edit Page, India | ET

By Swami Kriyananda

During my sophomore year in college, I developed a theory that luck is more a question of attitude than of blind destiny. “If you want to be lucky,” I told my friends, “expect to be lucky. Then make your expectation dynamic by going out and meeting luck halfway; don’t wait passively for it to come to you.”

Amazing things started happening to me as soon as I myself began living by this principle. The only chapter, out of many, that I studied for a Greek exam turned out to be the one we were asked to translate. I entered an essay contest for a $100 prize, not because I knew the subject (I didn’t), but because I needed the money. My fellow students kept out of the fray, and I was the only contestant. I also won a$15 first prize in a poetry contest, but that was more in my line. Then, with $115 in my pocket, I set off to spend my summer vacation in Mexico.…

Whatever one holds strongly in his mind, that he attracts to himself.… Human magnetism, however, is never the outcome of mere wishful thinking. Two people may think positively in an undertaking, yet one will attract success, and the other, failure. There are weak magnets, and strong ones.

When you send out a strong thought, a ray of energy goes out from you towards the object of that thought. This energy ray creates its own magnetic field —strong or weak, according to the relative strength of your will. If your will, and its resultant flow of energy, are powerful, there is nothing that you cannot draw to yourself. You will be able to perform feats that to others will appear miraculous.
