Hello,
I am a Physiotherapist, Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, Labor & Lactation Support Professional. I started my journey into Pregnancy in the year 2009 with my Physiotherapy Project in my Medical School. With great interest in learning about how can Physiotherapy help women in their best phase of life, i joined Dr. Manisha Gogri in her Program Fit For Birth, in October 2011. Since then, i have myself trained more than 1000 couples for their fitness in Pregnancy, prepared & helped them for birth. Presently, i have also expanded my passion into fitness for moms post birth and helping moms with a positive motherhood experience.

On this Teacher’s Day, my Guru Dakshina was to give back to my mentors — by presenting a case very close to my heart.

Alongside my first mentor in this professional journey, Dr. Manisha, I had the privilege of presenting a unique case on 🌈 lactation in the LGBTQ+ community 🤱🏻 — a topic that challenges traditional assumptions and highlights the importance of inclusive, trauma-informed care.

This was my way of honouring all my teachers who have shaped me — by carrying their lessons forward into new and meaningful spaces. 🙏💜

The discussion was received with immense warmth and appreciation 🙌, reminding us how vital it is to bring awareness and inclusivity into healthcare. 💜

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined, listened, and supported us in highlighting this meaningful topic. 💫

Here’s to more conversations that matter, and to making healthcare more compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based. 🌍💙

Healthy and happy mealtimes are more than just about the food on the plate—they’re also about the environment and the experiences surrounding the meal. Ensuring that a baby eats everything can be challenging, but with patience and some strategies, you can encourage healthy eating habits.
Here’s what a healthy and happy mealtime typically looks like:

🥗Mindful Eating : Savoring Food: Everyone is encouraged to taste and savor their food, rather than rushing through the meal. This promotes better digestion and a greater appreciation for the food.

🥗Introduce a Variety Early On: Offer a wide range of flavors and textures early in the weaning process. This helps babies become accustomed to different tastes and reduces the likelihood of them becoming picky eaters.

🥗Be Patient with New Foods: It may take multiple attempts (sometimes 15-21 times) before a baby accepts a new food. Keep offering it without pressure.

➕Positive Reinforcement: Praise and Encouragement: Positive behaviors at the table are noticed and praised, creating a warm and encouraging environment. Show enthusiasm for the food yourself.

👩‍👦Lead by Example: Babies are more likely to try foods if they see you eating and enjoying them. Make family meals a regular part of your routine.

🍽️Offer Small Portions: Start with small portions to avoid overwhelming your baby. You can always offer more if they finish and seem interested in eating more.

🍌Get Creative: If your baby resists certain foods, try preparing them differently. Sometimes a different texture or flavor pairing can make a food more appealing.

🌈Adjusting to needs : Mealtimes are flexible to accommodate different needs and preferences. If someone isn’t hungry or isn’t in the mood for a certain food, it’s okay to adjust.

Healthy and happy mealtimes are all about creating an environment where everyone feels relaxed, respected, and nourished, both physically and emotionally. These practices help establish a lifelong positive relationship with food.

Am I breastfeeding well ⁉️⁉️
This is a very common question. Especially when you first start breastfeeding or if you are a first time parent.

It’s impossible to tell you how much milk your baby is drinking.
Every baby is different and they feed at different rates.

Some will be full in 10 minutes and others may take 30 minutes.

As a mother, we always keep doubting as to whether I am breastfeeding well or is there something else I have to look for.
“I am breastfeeding well”: This phrase emphasizes the mother’s experience and her ability to breastfeed successfully. It might refer to her comfort, milk supply, latch technique, and overall ease in breastfeeding.
There are signs to look out for which can reassure you all is well.
If these aspects are met : You will be emotionally at ease with breastfeeding, feeling positive and supported in your breastfeeding journey.
