Two wins for Alkem at BW Businessworld Pharma Awards 2026.

We are delighted to share that Alkem has been honoured with the prestigious BW Businessworld Pharma Leadership Award in two categories:

1) Excellence in Innovation in Anti‑Counterfeiting: For our sustained focus on deploying advanced technologies, packaging changes and placing robust safeguards to protect medicine authenticity and reinforce patient trust.

2) Excellence in Rural Health Initiative: For our efforts under ‘Alkem Anaemia Mukti Abhiyaan’, spread over 72 panchayats in 6 states, to create awareness, screening, and community engagement for addressing the challenge of anaemia in the underserved regions of the country.

India-EU FTA: A historic moment for India’s economic diplomacy

The conclusion of the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), rightly described as the “mother of all trade deals”, marks a decisive leap in India’s global economic integration. It deepens trust, predictability, and long-term market partnership between two of the world’s leading economies.

We commend Honorable PM Narendra Modi ji and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for steering this landmark deal to a successful closure after nearly two decades of sustained negotiations.

For India’s pharmaceuticals and medical devices sector, it unlocks the $572.3 bn EU market, enables tariff liberalisation for Made-in-India devices, and strengthens supply chains. It also supports the broader ecosystem by encouraging job creation, MSME participation, and capacity expansion, reinforcing India’s growing stature as the “Pharmacy of the World.”

We are honoured that Alkem was invited by the Government of India to attend this prestigious India-EU Business Forum, an acknowledgement of Alkem’s growing contribution to advancing ‘Made in India’ healthcare solutions on the global stage. Mrs. Madhurima Singh represented Alkem at the forum.

We are thankful to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, and the PMO for making Alkem a part of this distinguished business forum.
