Our Story

The journey of Oleum Cottage started from a very personal need. Back in 2014 when Kasturi's daughter (one of her twin babies) was diagnosed with a rare metabolic condition, she wholeheartedly took to trying every means to increase her little ones’ immunity naturally. During this search she came across the benefits of aromatherapy and started practising it.

Her first product was a blend of basil, eucalyptus, clove, sesame, soybean and neem, to work on their coughs and colds. It worked so well that it paved the path for our first formulation - Immunity Boosting Body Lotion!

Further validation in the power of cold pressed oils came from her own dry skin woes melting away. She was alarmed to learn that commercially available skin care, hair care, even baby care were primarily focussed on making the product last long and look good, with a dash of plant ingredient thrown in to make ‘natural’ claims. She felt compelled to change this.

As destiny would have it, she met our co-founder Vidhi at her very first boutique store, and together their passion and eagerness for natural and therapeutic skin care had no bounds. With the love and blessings of their users, they finally paved the way for Oleum Cottage – a small batch apothecary for safe, healthy skincare.
