Nutella vs. Other Alternatives: Reading the Nutrition Labels 🍫🥜

Let’s break it down and see what’s really inside these jars!

🔍 Nutella – The Popular Pick

✔ Sugar Overload – Nearly 50% of the jar is pure sugar (49.8g per 100g).
✔ Palm Oil – Heavily processed and adds no nutritional benefit.
✔ Hazelnuts? Barely! Only 13%, which is shockingly low for a “hazelnut” spread.
✔ Cocoa? Minimal. Just 7.4% (almost the last ingredient).

Now, let’s compare other options 👇

✅ Whole Truth Date-Sweetened Peanut Butter
Pros:
• Only two ingredients – 85% peanuts + 15% date powder (no refined sugar!).
• High in protein (24.2g per 100g) and fiber.

Cons:
• High in total fat (41.8g per 100g) – good fats, but still something to watch.

✅ Whole Truth Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter
Pros:
• Natural sweetener (dates) instead of refined sugar.

Cons:
• Still has 4.9g sugar per 35g serving (which adds up).
• High in total fats (50.5g per 100g), something to watch out for if you are on a calorie restricted diet.

✅ Ray Sugar Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (Marketed as “No Sugar”)
Pros:
• Uses Stevia instead of sugar (zero added sugar).
• Higher Hazelnut & Cocoa Content than Nutella.

Cons:
• Palm Oil is still the FIRST ingredient! No refined sugar doesn’t mean healthy if it’s still loaded with processed fats.
• Contains Mannitol (a sugar alcohol), which can cause digestive discomfort.

💡 Final Verdict –
This is not about telling you which brand is best but about making you aware of what’s inside your spread. Marketing can be misleading, so always read the labels carefully before assuming a product is “healthy.”
