The is here! To stay fit and healthy through the season, it’s important to be prepared. Here are a few which you can follow easily while your favorite time of the year.
1. Eat less carbohydrates- This is a staple tip year round to maintain low body fat levels. Protein, fat and fibre are your go to options.
2. Stay hydrated-Urine colour is a reliable indicator of your hydration status, most of the time.
3. Alcohol**- There’s no safe amount really but if you are going to indulge then bingeing should definitely be out.
4. Exercise daily- Continue your scheduled workouts. If on a holiday, you may want to explore outdoor activities.
5. Plan- Check food options with your host and plan your cheat meals strategically.
6. Sleep- Get enough shut-eye.
7. Take your vitamins- Late nights can affect your immune system.

**Not to exceed 1 unit for women and 2 for men per day considering that you are not suffering from any major metabolic disorder.
Single small shot of spirits * (25ml, ABV 40%)=1 unit
Small glass of red/white/rosé wine (125ml, ABV 12%)=1.5 units
Bottle of lager/beer/cider (330ml, ABV 5%)=1.7 units
ABV= alcohol by volume.

Christmas is just a week away and we are suggesting a healthy twist to your regular Christmas cake!
:
Chocolate Christmas Cake
Ingredients: 12 servings
300 g unsweetened chocolate
300 g butter unsalted (1 1/3 cup melted)
6 eggs
50g almond flour
150g powdered erythritol
pinch of salt
2 handfuls of mixed nuts, chopped (almonds, walnuts, pista)
Instructions:
Heat the oven to 170 Celsius.
Melt the butter and chocolate in the microwave (90 seconds), then stir and wait until dissolved. Alternatively, gently heat in a water bath (a heat proof bowl placed over a pan of boiling water). Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs until foamy, then add the sweetener and mix well.
Add the melted chocolate and butter along with the almond flour and stir with a spoon or spatula until just combined. Add the chopped nuts in the batter.
Line the bottom of a 20 cm / 8 inch spring form with parchment paper and grease the sides with butter. Pour in the cake batter and bake for 30 minutes on the middle shelf until the top of the cake is firm to the touch, especially in the middle.
Leave to cool before releasing from the cake tin. Once the the cake is completely cooled, dust with cocoa powder.

: Soul bread (very low carb)
Ingredients: 16 slices
350g cream cheese softened
1/4 cup butter
4 eggs
2 drops stevia
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream or half and half
1/4 cup olive oil
2 cups unflavored whey protein
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp xanthan gum
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp white vinegar
Method:
* Preheat oven to 160 degrees C. Prepare a bread pan (9″ x 5″).
* Put cream cheese and butter in a large microwave safe dish. Microwave for 1 minute.
* Blend well with a hand blender.
* Add eggs, sweetener, heavy cream, and olive oil and blend well again.
* Blend all dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
* Add dry ingredients to cream cheese mixture and stir well with spoon or spatula.
* Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. The bread may be dry on top but adding melted butter helps if you’re eating it right away.
* Once cool, wrap in plastic to store.

: Flaxseed Crackers
This is a delicious crunchy low carb snack!

Ingredients: approx 15-20 based on desired size
100 grams flaxseed / flaxseed powder
200 ml boiling water
Salt
Seasoning of your choice
1/2 teaspoon oil

Method :
Boil 200 ml water (1 cup water).
Add flax seed powder to boiling water.
Keep stirring till it becomes a sticky dough.
Remove the dough in a plate and divide in 4 to 5 parts.
Keep one part between two baking sheets and roll it with a rolling pin.
Cut into desired shape and size.
Preheat the oven for 10 min at 150 degree centigrade.
Put flax seed crackers into oven for 15 minutes
(if oven is not available then one can use a pan).

: Green Protein Smoothie
Beat the heat with this nourishing smoothie….

Ingredients: 2 servings
* Handful / 15g spinach
* Handful / 10g fresh mint leaves, picked
* 1/2 medium avocado
* 1 celery stick
* 1/4 small cucumber (100g)
* 1/2 scoop whey protein powder (vanilla)
* 1 cup / 240 ml almond milk unsweetened
* 1 Tbsp almond butter
* Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions
Scoop the avocado flesh out and place all ingredients into a high speed blender. Blend until smooth. Adjust thickness by adding more almond milk if desired.
