Option 1: The "Expert Advice" Style (Best for authority)

Don’t let your skin slow down your pace! 🏃🏽‍♀️✨

Running is therapy for the soul, but it can be a marathon for your skin. Between the Mumbai humidity, UV exposure, and constant friction, your skin barrier is working just as hard as your heart rate. 📈

From preventing "jogger’s ni**le" to managing that post-run "backne," I’ve put together the ultimate Runner’s Skin Toolkit.

Swipe left ⬅️ to see my top dermatologist-approved tips for:

☀️ Sun protection (including a hack for long runs!)

🩹 Dealing with the dreaded chafe

🦟 Managing trail run insect bites

👣 Keeping your feet callus-free

Remember: A post-run rinse isn't just about the smell—it's about saving your skin from salt irritation and fungal flares! 🚿

Suffering from itchy bumps on sun-exposed skin? ☀️ It might not just be a heat rash—it could be Polymorphic Light Eruption (PMLE).

Commonly seen in women in their 20s and 30s, this condition is an immune reaction triggered by recurrent sun exposure. While it’s frustrating, it’s manageable!

The Essentials:

Photoprotection is non-negotiable: Broad-spectrum sunscreen and UPF clothing are your best friends. 🧴

Antioxidants like beta carotene : These can help stabilize the skin’s response to UV stress. 🍊

Expert Advice: If the rash persists, don't DIY your treatment. 👩🏽‍⚕️

Consult a dermatologist to get a tailored plan and keep your skin calm all season long.

Microneedling: TRUE or FALSE? 🧬✨

You asked, I answered 👇

✔️ Can it help improve acne scars?
👉 TRUE helps with atrophic scars especially superficial rolling scars.

✔️ Can it help with skin texture?
👉 TRUE yes remodels collagen and elastin making the skin look more hydrated and firm.

❌ Can it be repeated weekly?
👉 FALSE – skin needs time to heal & rebuild collagen. Once in 2-4 weeks is recommended.

❌ Safe to do at home?
👉 FALSE – depth + hygiene = risk of scarring and infection if done unsupervised at home.

❌ One session is enough?
👉 FALSE – consistency is key for real results. Atleast 3-6 sessions required.

⚖️ Helps with pigmentation?
👉 PARTLY TRUE – helps a bit with post acne pigmentation especially if combined with actives. Not great for deeper pigmentation or melasma.

❌ Zero downtime?
👉 FALSE – expect mild redness for 1–2 days

✔️ Can be combined with other procedures?
👉 TRUE – often paired with PRP, exosomes, peels, or lasers for better outcomes

Microneedling is powerful—but only when done right 💉✨

Episode 3 — Grandma’s Nuskhas vs Science: Neem & Multani Mitti for Acne 🌿

These two ingredients have been used for generations to manage oily skin and breakouts.

And there is some science behind it.

Neem contains compounds like azidaractin, nimbidin and quercetin, which have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that may help calm mild acne.

Multani mitti (Fuller’s earth) works mainly by absorbing excess oil and impurities, which can temporarily reduce shine and clogged pores.

But here’s the catch:
Used too frequently, they can strip the skin barrier, leading to dryness, irritation, and sometimes even more breakouts. Neem can be cause irritant dermatitis if used alone or in a concentrated form.

So while they may help with oil control, they don’t target the main drivers of acne the way medical treatments do.
At the most they can be adjuvants in the form of facewashes or masks in your acne fighting journey not stand alone treatments!

Dry brushing isn’t detox. It’s trauma.

❌ No cellulite reduction
❌ No detox benefits
✅ Yes to dryness, irritation, barrier damage & pigmentation

Gentle exfoliation > aggressive scrubbing.
Throw the dry brush + loofah away 🗑️✨

PS: If you have normal–dry skin, normal bathing is exfoliation enough.

True or False — Azelaic Acid Edition 🔬

One ingredient. Many myths.

✔ Acne
✔ Acne pigmentation
✔ Sensitive & rosacea-prone skin
✔ Safe in pregnancy
✔ Helpful in melasma

❌ Does not cause photosensitivity
❌ Does not bleach or depigment normal skin

Can be used day and night when tolerated.
Helpful for mild to moderate acne and post-acne marks —
but not a magic fix for deep acne scars.

Gentle. Versatile. Evidence-based.

Welcome to Episode 2 of Grandma’s Nuskhas vs Science.

Besan and malai have long been used for glow and detanning,
but their effects are temporary, not corrective.

Frequent use of besan can cause irritation, dryness, and even pigmentation.
Malai, while deeply moisturising, is highly comedogenic and can trigger or worsen breakouts.

So here’s the science-backed takeaway:
• Dry, sensitive, eczema-prone skin → skip besan
• Oily, combination, acne-prone skin → skip malai

Use either occasionally, not routinely — and always patch test first.
