Develop the attitude of being happy under all circumstances in life so nothing can take your happiness away from you. Happiness and cheerfulness are to be cultivated inside of you, not dependent at all upon outer circumstances (such as material possessions, activities and ideal environments). Practice this until you master it, so nothing can steal your inner happiness. Whilst you are searching for the Divine happiness inside (ever-new Joy and Bliss), you can maintain a happy attitude at all times. Cheerfulness and optimism will serve you well in your life.

Having strong likes and dislikes is a sure-fire way to be unhappy. As circumstances in the world will never always be to your liking, holding on to how you like things to be and not to be, will only cause you to suffer and be unhappy. When you don’t like something, change your mind to being ok with it, even though it’s not your preference, so when you experience it you can deal with it ok and not suffer and be unhappy. People with strong likes and dislikes are very fussy and hard to please. They are only happy when circumstances are to their liking. They can’t make the best of situations and be happy. It s very important not to be like this, as this life is not designed to give you everything that you want in the way that you want it all of the time. You must learn to be happy under all circumstances, and not let likes and dislikes stop you from getting on with your life however it presents itself to you. Drop your fussiness that is based on your likes and dislikes, and you will get on in the world much more easily and happily.

Loyalty to the Guru that Lord Shiva has sent to you is of upmost importance. Without loyalty to the channel that  has sent to you, you cannot truly know Him. Loyalty to the Guru means to know that they are the channel that is taking you to Shiva Consciousness and not to look for the same from other Gurus. Lord Shiva’s hand is coming down to you from heaven outstretched to lift you up through your Guru. He is not doing this through all Gurus, He is doing it specifically through the Guru that you have chosen. God comes to you through a specific Guru and path. and that is the right path for you that will take you back to Him.

People sometimes think that they may go quicker on the spiritual path by practising multiple meditation techniques from different Gurus. Whilst using multiple sources for various things in the world can be beneficial, it has the exact opposite effect on the spiritual path, as it is completely different from worldly activities. It is detrimental to follow more than Guru and spiritual path at a time, as it stops the Guru from being able to help you as much, due to your mind not being fully on him and his path. It also stops you from knowing which Guru or spiritual technique is helping you and so you will never be able to develop absolute faith in any of them. When you want to go somewhere you take a car to get there. It is not necessary to ride in two cars nor is it possible and it is the same with the spiritual path. It is fine to visit Gurus, ashrams and temples for blessings and to take part in spiritual activities such as singing bhajans. But you must always remember who your Guru is and be established and strong in your relationship with him, otherwise visiting other Gurus may confuse you.

Lord Shiva has created you as an unique individual and has gone to great lengths to make you exactly as you are. Therefore, embrace and accept yourself exactly as you are, as you are perfect in the eyes of Lord Shiva. All humans have character flaws and on the spiritual path you are looking to remove those character flaws and replace them with good character traits. As you travel along the spiritual path you have a life-time of work to do on yourself. You are always a work in progress when it comes to your character, but one does not have to be perfect in character to attain Shiva Consciousness.

It is very important to always accept your good and bad traits throughout your life, whilst you are working on removing the bad ones. You should never feel bad about yourself, but instead be kind, loving and accepting about yourself however you are. Lord Shiva does not look upon you badly when you have character flaws. How can He, as He was the one who created them in you in the first place. It is Lord Shiva’s plan for all souls to go through the journey of self-improvement and to realise their oneness with Him as Shiva Consciousness. During this journey of life, you must remember that Lord Shiva has put you in this situation so you should never feel bad and not accept how you are. Look at self-improvement like a project, and always remember that there is no reason to feel that you are not worthy of knowing Lord Shiva or that He sees you in anyway other than with completely accepting and loving eyes. We are used to judging and blaming others and ourselves on earth. Lord Shiva does not do that, so be the same as Him and accept yourself however you are throughout life, whilst you work on developing the noble, spiritual qualities within you.

Each person has a vibration that is created by their thoughts, feelings, habits and spiritual development, and this vibration will automatically influence those around them. Furthermore, the ideas that a person expresses and the habits that they display also affects others. If you keep the company of alcoholics, after some time of being in their vibration and witnessing their regular consumption of alcohol, unless you have very strong will power, you will find yourself more prone to drinking alcohol. If you keep the company of successful business men or women, through being in their vibration and witnessing their business actions, you will over time develop the desire to get into business. If you keep the company of saints, you will be influenced by their Divine vibrations and holy actions and develop the taste for searching for God. It is therefore vital that you choose your company wisely.

If you are trying to get rid of certain bad habits it is best that you stay away from people with the same habits where possible, until you have at least become strong enough to resist those habits. It is best to spend time with positive-minded people and avoid negative-minded people where possible. We do not have the ability to choose our family, but we do have the ability to choose our friends, so choose them wisely.

14/11/2025

The world, with all of its complex situations and people, is the perfect place for you to grow, and has been designed by Lord Shiva for this exact purpose. Solitude in mountains is not the right place for most people. The interactions that you have with family, friends and work colleagues give you the perfect opportunity to change your negative qualities into spiritual qualities. Each time you react badly towards someone, you know that there is something within you that needs to change. When, through self-analysis and putting the necessary changes in place, you have purified yourself of all your negative tendencies, you will find that you will always be unaffected by the negative actions of others and you will enjoy a state of calmness and tranquility.

The following story illustrates this: There was a yogi who decided to live in a cave and stay in continuous meditation. He stayed there for many years and one day he thought that he must have reached spiritual perfection by now, and so he decided to make his way down the mountain to pay a visit to the local village. On the way there, a shepherd and all of his sheep passed along the road that he was walking down. The sheep surrounded the yogi and made it impossible for him to pass. After some time, the yogi became angry that he couldn’t get passed, lost his temper and shouted at the sheep and shepherd. When he finished his outburst, he realised that he had not reached the state of spiritual perfection that he thought that he had and so returned back to the cave. This story illustrates that unless we have the world around to test our spiritual development, we will never know how we really are and what we need to improve.

This whole world, your body and mind are nothing but a creation of Lord Shiva in His dream world of Maya. Even though life seems very real, it is nothing but light and shadows in the consciousness of Lord Shiva. Beyond this dream world of Lord Shiva there is only One consciousness, which is everyone’s higher Self. The multitudes of beings in the many universes are simply the consciousness of Lord Shiva putting a part of Itself into a dream state, so many beings of consciousness can exist, even though there is only One consciousness.

In this dream world, Lord Shiva loves to see people choose Him and go back to Him after going through the journey of life. So, play your part in life well and enjoy it, whilst continuously striving to know Lord Shiva, but don’t take the drama of life too seriously. Always keep in mind that this is nothing but a dream show of Lord Shiva, as this is the truth of life that you will experience yourself one day

The will of Lord Shiva is always what is right for you, and He will always guide you to this if you are open to it. Be assured that Lord Shiva’s guidance is always there for you, so you can make the right decisions for the important things in your life. But how do you receive this guidance? It is very simple; Lord Shiva guides you through your feelings. If something feels right to you, then this will be the case. If something doesn’t feel right to you, then this will also be the case. Once you have this feeling do not second guess it with your mind, as you will find your egoistic mind will want you to do something that suits it, not Lord Shiva’s will. As a devotee, the more in tune you are with Lord Shiva and Gurus, the more you will be able to receive Their inner guidance.

05/11/2025

If you are to know Lord Shiva deeply, you must have intensity inside of you in your search for Him. If you lose your job and you have bills to pay and a family to feed, you naturally have an intensity when looking for another job; you don’t think: “I’ll get a job at some point it doesn’t matter that much when”. It is the same for your spiritual life. You have your goal to know Lord Shiva, to attain Shiva Consciousness and you only have a relatively short life-time to do this in. As your spiritual goal cannot be attained over-night, you must therefore have an intensity in your search to attain your goal by the end of your life. This intensity, if it is strong enough, will prioritise your spiritual practice and spiritual life in general over everything else.

Spiritual intensity is like a fire that is burning inside of you to know Lord Shiva, and you feel like to doing more and more to achieve this. If you are only mildly interested in attaining Shiva Consciousness, your effort in meditation will be mediocre and you will easily be side-tracked from doing it. On the other hand, if you have the necessary spiritual intensity, born from a strong desire to attain Shiva Consciousness, then your effort will automatically be there in your meditations and nothing will be able to distract you from meditating and from living your spiritual life well.

If you want to create more intensity in your spiritual life, think about your desire to know Lord Shiva and how important it is to you. Think about what it will mean to you if you miss this great opportunity that you have been given, and upon death you leave this life without attaining your goal. People who are on the spiritual path, but do not live it well, feel such great pain when they leave their body at the time of death, when they realise that they have not attained the goal that they had come to earth for.

To attain Shiva Consciousness, create the necessary desire for it inside of you, and will give you the strong spiritual intensity that is needed to achieve your goal no matter what it takes.

04/11/2025

When devotees take their spiritual life seriously, they hold themselves to the high standard of being the best devotees that they can be. However, when they fall short of living up to their high standards, they are prone to being hard on themselves. Although it is very good to have high standards to live up to, you must also be completely accepting and loving towards yourself. If you are not this way with yourself, you will look upon yourself unfavourably when you do not live up to your high standards, which in turn will have a negative, limiting effect on you.

You must be your greatest well-wisher and never turn against yourself no matter what you do, even if you consider what you have done to be a great a mistake. If you turn against yourself, your mind will run riot against you and you will find yourself in your own self-created hell.

Being on the spiritual path, you naturally want to improve yourself. You therefore start to analyse yourself, and after doing so you may realise how many faults you have. This is when people sometimes think badly about themselves. However, this is not the correct way to go about self-development. Lord Shiva has made you into a human being with the possibility of developing many faults, which everyone does over many lives. People are happily oblivious of their faults until they start to analyse themselves in order to be able to change for the better. Therefore, suddenly becoming aware of all of your faults can be a rude awakening, but this should not make you despair. Know that it is a process that everyone has to go through, similar to how everyone has to go to school, and so don’t feel bad about yourself.

The way to go about self-development is to be very kind, gentle, understanding, unconditionally accepting and loving about yourself, whilst making the necessary improvements.

From this stand-point go about making the necessary changes to yourself without any negative feelings such as guilt, hate, self-disgust or unworthiness. These feelings have no place on the spiritual path and will not help you in any way whatsoever, as they will only keep you down.

S*x is a natural part of life and it is not something that you have to avoid when you are on the spiritual path. The subject of s*x when on the spiritual path has been misunderstood by many spiritual seekers, due to most spiritual teachers being celibate monks / nuns. The celibacy that a monk / nun practices however is not necessary for the householder. You do not need to be celibate to know Lord Shiva.

Even though s*x is absolutely fine and should be enjoyed with your partner as an act of love and connection, over indulgence in it will deplete the energy from your body which does not help on the spiritual path. Too much s*x also keeps you in the mode of sense pleasure. So, keep this in mind and do what feels right to you. Do not feel guilty about having s*x. It is a natural urge that has been put into you and so you do not need to repress it, simply be balanced with it. S*x with others is best reserved for a partner that you are committed to

30/10/2025

It is important to focus on changing yourself for the better. Most of the time it is hard for a person to see what they need to change about themselves, although it is often quite evident to others around them. The Guru knows what you need to change and so he will put you in situations in life so you will be able to clearly see the undesirable qualities within you. He does this so you can improve yourself much quicker than you would normally be able to, and thus move more swiftly along the path to Shiva Consciousness.

When there is friction between you and someone else, look to yourself first because there will always be something that you need to change in you, regardless of how at fault the other person may be. See what negative qualities are coming out within you are the time and resolve to change them for the better. If you see all difficult interactions with others as an opportunity to change yourself for the better, you will be able to advance spiritually much more quickly.

When you retire to bed, review your day. See if you have improved in anything and also see if you have acted in a way that you would have wished not to. Then think about how you would like to rectify how you acted that day, and put a plan into action to change it from now on. Practice this daily review as it will enable you to keep on improving yourself and become the person that you would like to be. Keep a notebook of the things that you want to change in your life and keep reviewing it to remind yourself and to reflect on how you are progressing. If you are making a sincere effort to change, Lord Shiva will help you.
