What is Meheryash Lifeskills Centre all about?? Well to start with it is the first step one takes to feel & function better. It is about thinking, feeling & behaving in a well adjusted manner. The main basis for CBT( Cognitive Behavior Therapy) & REBT( Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) Altering our ways of thinking & adjusting well to the demands of every day living. What is REBT/CBT? Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)/Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) belong to the cognitive school of thought. The basic tenet of these therapies being that the way we think influences the way we feel and act. Most people believe our misery is caused by triggering external events/people only. Unlike most therapies, REBT shows you how certain unhelpful beliefs contribute towards creating and maintaining unhealthy negative emotions. This is helpful because even if these adverse external events cannot be altered we aren't doomed to feel miserable about them. Instead we have the choice to feel much lesser disturbed by adopting a healthier belief system. These therapies help in achieving the goal of living a less disturbed & adjusted way of life. Acceptance & attentive addressing of the situation is the first step towards a life free of problems

This post is not only a good reminder but creating an awareness post as well for those who are either contemplating therapy or are hesitant to seek help, due to some misconceptions. Infact now it's more and more necessary to go for therapy for each one of us, even doctors and mental health professionals themselves. Why doctors and MHP's? well they too can have some compassion fatigue besides some other personal life challenges as well. So it's ok to seek help. Get into therapy and feel better. Infact it's much more to do with mental fitness these days, as in to learn tools etc to cope with day to day challenges etc, whether it's in the professional or personal sphere of life.
