Your eye doctor always knows when you’ve been stretching your contact lens schedule a little too far. We can see the signs — redness, dryness, tiny scratches on the cornea. Even if your lenses still “feel fine,” overwearing them increases the risk of infections, irritation, and long-term damage to your eyes.

Contacts have an expiration for a reason — daily means daily, not “until they get uncomfortable.” Your eyes deserve better care than that.

✨ Stay hydrated: We often forget to drink water in winter, but your eyes need it just as much as your skin does.
✨ Use a humidifier: Indoor heaters suck the moisture out of the air. A humidifier helps keep your eyes (and skin) from drying out.
✨ Don’t skip sunglasses: Winter sun + UV reflection from surfaces (especially snow or shiny roads) = double UV exposure. Protect your eyes with 100% UV-blocking shades.
✨ Blink often: Whether you’re reading, working, or scrolling, we blink less in cold, dry weather—causing eye dryness. Try the 20-20-20 rule.
✨ Lubricating eye drops: Artificial tears can provide instant relief from dryness and irritation.
✨ Eat your omega-3s: Flaxseeds, walnuts, and chia seeds help keep the tear film healthy and reduce inflammation.

Remember, winter should make your cheeks rosy — not your eyes red. 🧣👓
Stay warm, stay hydrated, and give your eyes the love they deserve this season.

We spend hours every day glued to our screens—phones, laptops, TVs—without realizing how much strain it puts on our eyes. That tired, burning, or watery feeling after a long screen session? Often, blue light is to blame.

Blue light is a high-energy light that our eyes can’t filter easily. While some amount of it (like from natural sunlight) is fine, excessive artificial exposure—especially from digital screens—can:
• Cause eye strain, dryness, and headaches
• Blur your vision temporarily
• Disturb your natural sleep cycle by reducing melatonin levels

The good news is, you don’t have to give up screens—you just need to be mindful. Small steps go a long way:
✨ Use night mode or blue-light filters on devices
✨ Follow the 20-20-20 rule to give your eyes breaks
✨ Keep devices at least an arm’s length away
✨ Avoid screens an hour before bedtime
✨ Ask your eye doctor if blue-light filtering glasses are right for you

Your eyes are designed to last a lifetime—let’s not wear them out early. Protect them today, and they’ll thank you tomorrow. 💙👀

Screens, late nights, and endless scrolling are taking a bigger toll than you think. Here’s how you can protect your vision:
1. Follow the 20-20-20 Rule
Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. It relaxes your eye muscles and prevents digital strain.
2. Limit Blue Light Exposure
Too much late-night screen time can mess with your sleep cycle and strain your eyes. Use night mode or blue-light filters.
3. Don’t Ignore Dry Eyes
Air conditioning + long screen hours = dryness. Use artificial tears if needed and blink consciously.
4. Protect from UV Rays
Sunglasses aren’t just a fashion statement. UV exposure increases risk of cataracts, macular degeneration, and wrinkles.
5. Get Regular Eye Exams
Even if you think your vision is fine, an annual check can detect silent issues like glaucoma or early myopia progression.
6. Mind Your Lifestyle
Hydration, sleep, and nutrition (think leafy greens, carrots, and omega-3s) directly impact your eye health.

✨ Remember: Your eyes are doing overtime in the digital age. Treat them with the same care you give your skincare routine.

Astigmatism happens when the cornea (the clear front of your eye) or the lens inside isn’t perfectly round. Instead of being shaped like a smooth basketball, it’s more like a rugby ball — leading to blurred or distorted vision.

🔎 Common symptoms:
• Blurred vision at all distances
• Eye strain or headaches
• Difficulty seeing at night
• Squinting to focus

🌀 Causes:
• Usually present from birth
• Can change over time
• Sometimes linked with other eye conditions

✅ Treatment options:
• Glasses with special lenses
• Contact lenses (including toric or rigid lenses)
• Refractive surgery (like LASIK) in some cases

is very common and easily correctable — so if you’re experiencing these symptoms, an eye exam can help bring life back into focus.

👁️ Dry eyes aren’t just about discomfort — they can affect vision too.
Your eyes rely on a healthy tear film to stay clear and protected. When tears evaporate too quickly or aren’t produced enough, you may feel:
• Burning or stinging
• Grittiness (like sand in the eyes)
• Blurred or fluctuating vision
• Sensitivity to light

💧 Causes include screen time, aging, certain medications, contact lens wear, or environmental factors.

✅ Relief can come from artificial tears, lifestyle changes, or medical treatments — but getting your eyes checked is key to finding the cause.

👁 Signs You Need an Eye Exam

1. Blurry Vision

2. Frequent Headaches

3. Eye Strain or Fatigue

4. Trouble Seeing at Night

5. Double Vision

6. Squinting Often

7. Flashes, Floaters, or Shadows

8. Difficulty with Daily Tasks

9. Dry, Watery, or Red Eyes

10. It’s Been Over a Year

Even without symptoms, adults should have an annual eye exam — more often if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of eye disease.

👉 Takeaway: Regular eye exams aren’t just about vision — they help detect silent conditions like glaucoma, diabetes, and high blood pressure before serious damage occurs.

What happens if you sleep in them 😌
• Less oxygen to your cornea → the lens blocks oxygen, and with eyes closed, it gets even worse.
• Dryness & irritation → your eyes don’t get enough lubrication while closed.
• Infection risk → bacteria can grow between your lens and cornea; risk of serious infections like microbial keratitis.
• Corneal ulcers → painful sores that can even threaten vision.

✅ Good practices
• Always remove lenses before sleeping, even for a nap.
• Use fresh lens solution every day.
• Replace lenses as per schedule (daily, bi-weekly, monthly).
• Give your eyes “lens-free” time regularly.

Myopia (nearsightedness) means distant objects look blurry, while near vision is relatively clearer.

• Caused by excessive elongation of the eyeball or overly steep curvature, so light focuses in front of the retina instead of on it.

Studies show rising rates of myopia among Indian children, especially in urban areas.
• For example: 1999 figures had around ~4–5% of urban children (age ~5-15) with myopia; more recent studies suggest this may rise to 20-30%+ in coming decades if no interventions occur.
• In some states, prevalence among school students already reaching ~35% in urban settings.

🧠 Key Contributing Factors
• Increased screen time and time spent indoors (studying, devices)
• Reduced outdoor activities & sunlight exposure, which helps regulate eye growth.
• Genetic predisposition; children with myopic parents are at higher risk.
• Urbanization: better education, more near work, less natural light, and dense living encourage development of myopia.

Operated a 85 year old who couldn’t see, hear or walk since the past 10 years!!
She refused to any kind of surgery but after a lots of coaxing by her family, she agreed to this one!

Operated one eye last week and she told her grandson she wants the other eye operated too!

For the first time she could see what she was being fed!

So glad that her cataract surgery has brought back atleast her sight and happiness…..
Loved the smile on her face today when I took her on the operation table 😍
