A baby who doesn’t respond to sounds or vocalises ( makes sounds ) should be checked by a physician/ paediatrician immediately. But often , it’s difficult for parents to know if a child is taking a bit longer to achieve a speech-language milestone.

Think before you assume💕

You will need cloth pins and flashcards for this activity. Just pin up flashcards on the curtain/cloth or cardboard. You can choose the flashcards of your choice.
🔹Ask the child to "Pick up a Dog." and the child has to take out the pin and put in a basket.
🔹You can increase complexity by asking, "pick up a dog and keep it on/under a table." Incorporate prepositions or ask them to give it to another person to use 2 step commands.
🔹Alternately, you can also ask them to give you multiple cards to improve their auditory memory like Give me Dog, Goat and Horse.
🔹You can also put up sequencing cards like brushing, bathing and dressing or story sequencing cards. So the child has to bring cards in sequence and arrange them on the table.
🔹Since this is something different than just picking up the cards, the child will enjoy it and it will also help them to develop finger strength and fine motor skills.
