Occupational therapy often takes time to show results because it involves a personalized process of assessing, planning, and implementing interventions tailored to an individual’s specific needs and goals. Progress may be gradual as clients learn new skills, adapt to changes, and develop strategies to overcome challenges in their daily lives. Additionally, the nature of rehabilitation and skill-building requires consistent practice and reinforcement over time for meaningful progress to occur.

It’s not just play

Jumping on a trampoline can fulfill a variety of sensory needs, including proprioceptive and vestibular input. Proprioceptive input involves pressure on the joints and muscles, which can help regulate body awareness and coordination. Vestibular input refers to movement and balance sensations, which can help with sensory processing and self-regulation. So, jumping on a trampoline can be beneficial for individuals seeking sensory stimulation or seeking to regulate their sensory experiences.

Unconditional positive regard is a concept in humanistic psychology, particularly associated with Carl Rogers. It refers to an attitude of acceptance and support towards a person, regardless of their behavior or actions. It involves showing genuine empathy, respect, and warmth towards others without judgment or conditions attached. Little Pods for Special Needs Children

Little Pods is an organization focussed on providing a variety of services for children with special needs in a distinctive way. Keeping in mind the individual differences in each child, our trained professionals aim to thoroughly understand the child and help him/her inculcate skills for independent functioning.

Our interventions and strategies are formulated based on the needs of the child, while keeping in mind the needs of the school and parents or caregivers. The interventions are introduced in a manner that child is comfortable with. We focus on improving the child’s strengths while modifying his/her weaknesses. We follow a goal directed approach to help the child gain various skills and teach him/her methods to cope with various difficulties.

We also believe in training the individuals prominently involved in the child’s life (parents, teachers, caregivers, etc) to ensure the child’s needs are taken care of in a productive and effective manner.
