The first Master Class in Medicine, a special postgraduate academic program organised by the Department of Medicine, JSSMC, JSSAHER at JSS Hospital was inaugurated by Dr Mukhyaprana Prabhu, Professor & HOD of Medicine, KMC, Manipal recently.

The guests of honour were Dr Subhashchandra, Professor and Ex HOD of Medicine, JSSMC and Dr Manjula, HOD of Medicine, MMCRI. The resource faculty in the program was Dr Mukhyaprana Prabhu, Professor & HOD of Medicine, KMC, Manipal. Participants of the programme included postgraduates from different medical colleges.

The program was also telecast live and was available in online mode.

The program was well received and appreciated by the participants.

A successful two-day workshop on Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) was conducted by the Department of Medical Genetics, JSS Medical College & Hospital, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru from 16–17 April 2026, in association with Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The primary objective of this event was to offer an educational forum for discussion on emerging trends in therapeutics, particularly focusing on CAR-T cell therapy.

The proceedings of the symposium were initiated with an opening session that included the ceremony of lighting the lamps by Dr. Narayanappa D, Principal, JSS Medical College and Dr. Madhu C P, Director, JSS Hospital.

This was followed by a speech emphasizing the need for connecting translational genomics with novel treatment modalities.

The event brought together academicians, clinicians, industry experts, and students, fostering a collaborative environment to bridge the gap between research, clinical application, and industrial innovation.

A key highlight of the workshop was the panel discussion titled “CAR-T in India: Trends, Challenges, and the Road Ahead.”

World Immunization Week 2026 is celebrated from April 24–30, 2026, with the theme “For every generation, vaccines work”.

JSS Hospital, Mysuru successfully concluded World Immunisation Day 2026 program today ie 24th April 2026.

It was an insightful session dedicated to the vital role of adult immunisation in building a healthier community.

Key Highlights:

✨ Inauguration was Graced by our Chief Guest Dr. Javeed Nayeem (Senior Physician, Mysuru) , Guest of Honour Dr. C P Madhu (Director, JSS Hospital), Dr Mahantappa , Vice Principal , JSS Medcial College, Dr. Suresh Babu, HOD, Dept of General Medicine and all the faculty members of Dept of General Medicine.

🎤 Expert Talk: Dr. T Thippeswamy (Professor of Medicine, JSS MC) delivered a compelling session on "Adult Immunisation," debunking myths and emphasizing lifelong protection.

💬 Interactive Q&A: A lively session with attendees engaging on vaccine safety and schedules.

Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month is observed every year in the month of April.

A meaningful and awareness-driven program was organized by the Department of Oncology, Department of ENT to mark Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month on 23rd April 2026 at JSS Hospital.

The program was formally inaugurated by Dr. C P Madhu, Director, JSS Hospital and Dr.Narayanappa , Principal, JSS Medical College, Mysuru in the presence of distinguished guest Dr. Vinay Kumar Muttagi , Senior Radiation Oncologist, Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology .Present on the occasion were Dr.Kiran PK , Medical Oncologist, Dr.Ravi Krishnappa , Onco Surgeon , Dr MB Bharathi , Professor , Dept of ENT & Dr Sandeep S , HOD , Dept of ENT.

A key highlight of the program was creating awareness about early detection and prevention of Head & Neck cancer. Providing valuable insights about regular health assessment, quitting to***co, examination of non healing mouth ulcers and swelling in neck, advancements in treatment, and the importance of awareness among the public.

One of the most impactful moments of the program was the sharing of real-life stories by Cancer survivors and honouring them.

JSS Nursing college students participated in poster competition and were awarded.
