Lemon juice is a common ingredient in many home remedies for skin problems,
but is it safe?
Although there are many benefits of lemon juice in skincare, due to its high content of Vitamin C, it is NOT safe to use lemon juice on your skin.
Ascorbic acid is the active ingredient in lemons, however its concentration in lemons is not standardized.
Ascorbic acid is a very strong acid and using it on face may actually cause burns.
Also lemon juice is known to cause sunburns and irritation. So your pigmentation may actually increase rather than reduce if used wrongly.
Note :- Using a Vitamin C serum is a much safer option than lemon juice. So its better to be safe.
