About the workshop
As members of Community Medicine fraternity, we know the importance of disease screening as a cornerstone of preventive measures. From a pragmatic standpoint, it is very challenging to conduct screening activities adequately and accurately. However, implicit in these challenges are opportunities for improvement using artificial intelligence methods. In this workshop, I will provide the participants an overview of the artificial methods and techniques that can be used in disease screening. This workshop is for participants who are not well-versed with AI methods but desire to understand the techniques that have taken healthcare research by storm. Given the novelty of the contents, this workshop will span the entire day.

About the workshop:

In this half-day workshop, we will learn about various statistical methods to quantify the degree of agreement among various measures of the same attribute. We will have hands-on exercises and tasks to conduct agreement analyses with two widely used statistical programs – Stata and R. The aim of the workshop is not only to be able to conduct these analyses in an appropriate way but also to be able to present the data in publication quality tables and figures. At the end of workshop, the goal is to empower the participants with the ability to conduct agreement analyses and write statistical analyses and results section of a manuscript that uses agreement analyses.

About the workshop
Regression analysis is a robust statistical technique. The skills of regression modeling are required for every Community Medicine/public health specialist to present their results more confidently in the scientific community. It gives a cutting edge to your findings and makes your article more acceptable in PubMed and Scopus journals. “R” software is freely available statistical software and unlike SPSS, its use can be reported in the articles. Hence, in this workshop, we will attempt to learn the regression modeling skills using R software.
About the Resource Faculty
Dr. Prashant Kokiwar, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, MRIMS, Hyderabad is a well-known resource faculty for regression modeling using SPSS and R software. He has already been a resource faculty for such kind of workshop in the past. He has also published various papers using regression analysis. He is recipient of Prof. B.G. Prasad Award conferred by Indian Society for Medical Statistics for “best paper having application of biostatistics in epidemiology.”
