How it works?

Step 1. Stimulation injections (hormone therapy)
You are given hormone injections to stimulate the ovaries to get multiple eggs. Injections are given for around 8-12 days. Serial ultrasound scans are done to track the follicles. Once ultrasound shows follicles are large enough then trigger injection is given for final stages of egg maturation.

Step 2. Egg pick up (egg retrival)
After 34 - 36 hours of trigger injection, egg retrival procedure is done. This procedure is done under sedation, an ultrasound guided small needle is inserted to o***y through va**na. The fluid in the follicles that contains egg, is suctioned into a test tube. The fluid in each test tube is checked under microscope to find the egg.

Step 3. S***m preparation
Semen sample is processed to obtain healthy s***ms for IVF/ICSI.

Step 4. Egg fertilisation
Fertilisation is done by either IVF or ICSI. In IVF, healthy s***ms are mixed with eggs and kept in the incubator. In ICSI, one healthy s***m is injected in egg through tiny needle under microscope. Fertilisation is checked next day.

Step 5. Embryo development
Embryo is kept in incubator for development usually till day 5.

Step 6. Embryo transfer
Day 3 or day 5 embryo is transferred into the uterus through soft, thin and flexible catheter. This procedure is done under abdominal ultrasound guidance.

Step 7. Pregnancy test
After 12 days blood pregnancy test is done.
