🩺 A Day in the Life of a Surgeon
Today’s OPD was filled with patients – listening to their concerns, guiding them, and planning their treatment. Between consultations, I make it a point to take short, mindful breaks. These pauses help me stay calm, focused, and ready for the next patient.
The day then moved into the OT, where a major surgery demanded complete concentration, precision, and patience. Surgery is often intense and stressful, but that’s where training, teamwork, and discipline matter the most.
By evening, once the hospital work is done, I consciously disconnect from the stress of the day. Time with family becomes my way of recharging – sharing conversations, laughter, and simple moments that matter the most.
Balance is not about avoiding stress but about managing it and finding joy outside the workplace. That’s what keeps me grounded as a surgeon and as a person.
