On this "WORLD POLIO DAY" let us remember
Dr. Jonas Salk, the medical researcher who led the first team to develop a polio vaccine. In 1955 he created the first Inactived Poliovirus Vaccine.

"WORLD POLIO DAY" is an opportunity for public and civil society partners to raise awareness and resources for the global effort to eradicate polio

We should also remember efforts of
Dr. Harsh Vardhan in Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign of Government Of Delhi which was later adopted by Government of India wherein his efforts were of pioneering importnace in making India Polio free.

Let us remember the efforts of all our healthcare providers, scientists, support staff and active engagement of the Governement Of India by whose efforts India was declared Polio free in 2014
