Today Community Medicine Department of GMC Nagpur visited the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) and Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) at Daga Hospital, Nagpur. DEIC functions as a one-stop centre under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), providing early detection, intervention, and referral services for children with developmental delays, disabilities, and health conditions. NRC plays a crucial role in the management of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), offering medical care, nutritional rehabilitation, and caregiver counselling. Both centres together ensure holistic child health care, addressing medical as well as nutritional needs at an early stage📝

Anti-Ragging Day in India is officially observed each year on 12 August, followed immediately by Anti-Ragging Week, which runs from 12 August to 18 August✨
Anti-Ragging Week is observed in educational institutions across India to raise awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment. Ragging, which includes any form of physical, verbal, or psychological harassment of new students, is strictly prohibited under law and institutional policies. During this week, colleges and universities organize awareness programs, workshops, street plays, and discussions to educate students about the legal consequences of ragging and the importance of mutual respect. As part of the observance, students and staff take an Anti-Ragging Pledge affirming that they will neither participate in nor tolerate any form of ragging, and will work towards maintaining a friendly and supportive atmosphere for all. This collective commitment helps ensure that campuses remain safe spaces for learning and growth.

Organ donation is the voluntary act of giving one’s organs or tissues, either during life or after death, to save or improve the lives of others in need of a transplant. It is a noble and selfless gesture that can give patients with organ failure a second chance at life, restore sight, or improve mobility and health. Commonly donated organs include the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, and pancreas, while tissues like corneas, skin, and bone can also be donated. By registering as an organ donor and informing family members of this decision, individuals can ensure their wish to help others is honored. Organ donation not only benefits recipients but also creates a legacy of kindness, turning loss into hope for many families.

🌡️ Health Awareness Initiative at RHTC Saoner, Nagpur 🌿

Know the Signs, Beat the Fever!

As part of our activities to promote community health and preventive medicine, we had the opportunity to conduct a comprehensive Health Talk on the topic of FEVER at the Rural Health Training Center (RHTC), Saoner, Nagpur.

The session aimed to educate the local community on:
✅ The common causes and types of fever
✅ Early recognition of symptoms
✅ Appropriate home management and when to seek medical attention
✅ Preventive measures to reduce the incidence of fever-related illnesses

Engaging with the community at the grassroots level is a vital step in bridging the gap between awareness and access to healthcare. Grateful for the active participation and insightful questions from the attendees.

Together, let’s continue working towards a healthier and more informed society. 🩺✨
