Located about 10 kilometres from Shibla Village, Var Poad hamlet is probably one of, if not the most remote villages in Zari Jamni block of Yavatnal district. The settlement is 6 kilometres in the jungle from the nearest tar road, and is extremely difficult to reach with no healthcare facilities or markets near the village.
Due to the lockdown, the residents have been facing a livelihood crisis, with people unable to work in fields during the sowing season due to various reasons and restrictions.
SRUJAN distributed ration kits to all the households in the village, with enough food material to ensure sustaince for the next 10-15 days, till the government machinery starts functioning and reaches such remote settlements.
