Together, we move towards healthier animals and stronger rural livelihoods.
The Assam Hill Goat Kid Show was successfully organized under the AICRP on Goat Improvement, highlighting the positive outcomes of scientific goat rearing practices at the grassroots level.
The programme was graced by Dr. Dipak Bhuyan, Chief Scientist, Goat Research Station (GRS), AAU, and Dr. Arpana Das, Professor, Animal Genetics, as distinguished guests.
On request, Dr. Rekibuddin Ahmed acted as the Judge for the Kid Show.
To motivate farmers and promote quality germplasm, three (3) major prizes and ten (10) consolidated prizes were announced for the best Assam Hill Goat kids, with awardees from Barkhanajan and Katlabarkuchi villages.
Following the Kid Show, an awareness programme on scientific goat farming and distribution of essential inputs were also conducted, reinforcing sustainable animal health and livelihood security.

An Infertility Investigation and Treatment Camp was successfully organised by the Department of Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology & Obstetrics (ARGO), College of Veterinary Science (CVSc), AAU, Khanapara, under the ICAR–AICRP Project, in collaboration with the Block Veterinary Dispensary, Nandagaon and Anajori Development Society, on the occasion of the 88th Arara Gaon Sabha on 24 January, 2026 at Joypalthan Harimandir, Arara, Nalbari.During the programme, 30 cattle were examined for infertility problems through Transrectal Ultrasonography (TRUS), while more than 500 livestock received treatment for various reproductive and health disorders. Farmers were also provided free medicines, mineral mixtures, and nutritional supplements to support better animal health and productivity.
The camp aimed to promote scientific livestock management, early diagnosis of infertility, and improved reproductive performance, helping farmers enhance income and secure sustainable rural livelihoods.
The programme was supported by a dedicated team of veterinary experts from CVSc, AAU, including:Dr. Deep Jyoti Mahanta, Dr. Druba Jyoti Barpujari, Dr. Utpal Barman, Dr. Abhijit Deka, Dr. Kamal Bihari Dev Choudhary, Dr. Karuna Saikia, Dr. Bibhuti Chakravarty and team, and Dr. Rekib Uddin Ahmed(Veterinaryofficer,MVU, Ghograpar).
The active participation of local farmers made the camp highly successful, reaffirming a shared commitment to building healthier animals and stronger rural communities.

Public Health Field work Initiative by Anajori Development Society.

Anajori Development Society is pleased to share that three Master of Public Health (MPH) Interns from the Indian Institute of Public Health, Shillong (IIPH S) have commenced their field internship with our organization based on institutional recommendation.

The interns:
Dr. Grichi Boro
Dr. Lutfur Rahman
Mr. Mostafa Ali

The internship has been initiated under the guidance of Dr. Nagen Sarma, State Surveillance Medical Officer, World Health Organization (WHO), Guwahati. The students received separate briefings from Dr. Nagen Sarma and Matiur Rahman, President, Anajori Development Society, at Guwahati, Kamrup (Metro).

During their field engagement, the interns will primarily work and monitor in the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) sector, in close coordination with ASHA, ANM, and other frontline health workers, focusing on:
✅ Routine Immunization session site monitoring
✅ House-to-house visits and community interaction
✅ Field-level surveillance and monitoring
✅ Understanding grassroots public health service delivery

This initiative aims to strengthen practical public health learning, community participation, and health system support at the grassroots level, while contributing to improved health outcomes in the district.

Anajori Development Society successfully organized an Animal Vaccination Awareness cm Treatment Camp at the Model Goat Farm, Guwakuchi, Nalbari, Assam, on 12/01/2026, in association with the Block Veterinary Dispensary, Ghograpar.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Pramod Patowary, Block Veterinary Officer, Ghograpar, with valuable support from Dr. Rekibuddin Ahmed, Veterinary Officer (MMU), who provided on-the-spot treatment services along with scientific inputs on animal health, disease prevention, and improved livestock management practices.
During the camp, mineral mixture and nutritional supplements were distributed among livestock owners, and goats of the area were vaccinated against PPR disease to strengthen disease prevention and improve overall herd health.
Pashu Sakhis actively participated in the camp and supported awareness creation among beneficiaries on the importance of regular vaccination, balanced nutrition, and scientific animal rearing. Dr. Pramod Patowary also visited and reviewed the infrastructure of the Model Goat Farm and provided valuable suggestions for further improvement of the facility.
Dedicated staff members from the Block Veterinary Dispensary and Anajori Development Society actively supported the camp. From Anajori Development Society, Basanta Baishya, Vice President, along with volunteers Rejaul Islam and Mithun Ali, were present and interacted with beneficiaries, emphasizing sustainable livestock practices for improved rural livelihoods.
We sincerely thank the veterinary team, Pashu Sakhis, field staff, and local beneficiaries for their cooperation and participation in making this camp a success. Together, we move towards healthier animals and stronger rural livelihoods.

An Animal Vaccination, Treatment & Awareness Camp was successfully organized at Majarbari Village, Nalbari, with active support from the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and local community representatives.
The camp was guided by Dr Ambika Deka, Manager, District Poultry Farm, Japjapkuchi, Nalbari, who shared expert guidance on poultry health, disease prevention, and scientific management practices.
Veterinary services and overall coordination were led by Dr Pramod Patowary, Block Veterinary Officer, Block Veterinary Dispensary, Ghograpar. Field-level treatment and on-spot veterinary care through the Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) were provided by Dr Rekibuddin Ahmed.
