Does an Ovarian Cyst always mean Surgery?

Short answer: No.

Surgery is usually only recommended if:
🔹 The cyst is large (>5-6 cm)
🔹 It’s growing rapidly
🔹 It causes severe pain or bleeding
🔹 It looks suspicious on the ultrasound

For most small, simple cysts, we usually manage it conservatively with medication and regular check-ups.

Unusual bleeding during early pregnancy? It could be more than normal spotting.

Sometimes, early pregnancy bleeding may be caused by a molar pregnancy, a rare condition where abnormal tissue grows in the uterus instead of a normal embryo.

Signs to watch for:

• Heavy or persistent bleeding

• Severe cramping or abdominal pain

• Rapidly increasing uterine size

• Severe nausea or vomiting

If you notice any of these, seek medical care immediately, as a molar pregnancy needs prompt diagnosis and treatment to prevent complications.

Always get checked if bleeding is unusual. Share this to raise awareness and stay informed!

Wondering when the best time to travel is?

As a gynecologist, this is one of the most common questions I get. Timing is key for a safe and comfortable journey!

The best time to travel is the second trimester (specifically, between 14 to 28 weeks).

Why this golden window? ➡ Morning sickness from the first trimester has usually settled. ➡ The heaviness and swelling of the third trimester haven't started yet. ➡ The risk of pregnancy emergencies, like miscarriage or preterm labor, is at its lowest.

This "middle period" gives you the energy and comfort to actually enjoy your journey!
