Recently reported events surrounding the Quantum Pro 500 required genuine reflection.

When a technology accelerates the pace of innovation this dramatically, it’s worth pausing to understand its ripple effects across R&D labs and production floors.

Since its installation, engineers have been completing prototypes before their chai breaks, vendors are losing sleep as more printing moves in-house, managers are running out of excuses for production delays, and designers insist that “this speed should be illegal.”

We deeply regret the productivity boost, time savings, and sudden surge in smiles our machine may have caused.

Printing with Polypropylene can be tricky — but when tuned right, it’s one of the most durable and functional materials you can print with. From chemical resistance to incredible toughness and flexibility, PP is a material that deserves precision, not guesswork.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗯𝘆𝘇 👇

🧱 𝘉𝘦𝘥 & 𝘈𝘥𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯
Forget PEI or glass — PP sticks best to PP.
Use a PP sheet or tape on your bed surface, set your bed temperature between 90–105°C, and keep the cooling fan at a minimum (0–10%). Add mouse ears to the corners to reduce warping on large prints.

⚙️ 𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 & 𝘍𝘪𝘵
When designing for PP, flexibility is your friend.
Keep hinge webs thin (0.3–0.5 mm), design snap-fits with longer arms and gentler hooks, and always allow +0.3–0.5 mm clearance on mating parts for the perfect fit.

💡 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:
PP tends to shrink and flex differently from most materials. A little design foresight and thermal management go a long way in achieving parts that fit, flex, and function perfectly.
