👶💞 5 Common Reasons Babies Struggle to Latch Properly 💞👶
Breastfeeding is natural, but not always easy — especially in the early days. If your baby is struggling to latch, you’re not alone! 🌷 Here are a few common reasons and how gentle guidance can help 👇
1️⃣ Shallow Latch:
When baby takes only the ni**le and not enough ar**la, milk transfer becomes painful and inefficient. Correct positioning can make a huge difference.
2️⃣ Engorged Breasts:
If breasts are too full or firm, your baby may find it hard to grip. A little hand expression before feeding can soften the ar**la and help baby latch better.
3️⃣ Fast Let-down:
An overly strong milk flow can overwhelm your baby, causing pulling off or coughing. Try reclined feeding positions to slow the flow.
4️⃣ Tongue-tie or Lip-tie:
Restricted tongue or lip movement can make it difficult to form a deep latch. Early evaluation and guidance from a lactation professional help tremendously.
5️⃣ Sleepy Baby:
Some newborns tire easily or fall asleep mid-feed. Skin-to-skin contact, gentle rubbing, or switching sides can keep them engaged.
🌸 Remember — it’s not about perfection; it’s about learning together with your baby. With the right support, every mother–baby duo can find their rhythm. 🌸
