Excess salt (sodium) intake raises blood pressure by increasing the amount of water in your bloodstream, which puts more pressure on blood vessel walls. To lower high blood pressure, it is important to limit sodium consumption, especially from processed foods, and increase potassium intake.

Recommended daily limits are around 2,300 mg of sodium, but ideally 1,500 mg or less for most adults.

Primary angioplasty is an emergency procedure to open a blocked coronary artery to restore blood flow during a heart attack, minimizing damage to the heart muscle.

It is performed immediately after diagnosis, often within hours of symptom onset, and involves using a catheter to insert a balloon and stent to physically open the blockage, unlike traditional methods that use clot-dissolving drugs alone.

Primary angioplasty can lead to better outcomes, including lower mortality rates, compared to thrombolysis (clot-busting drugs).

"एंजियोप्लास्टी" शब्द का अर्थ है किसी संकरी या अवरुद्ध धमनी को खोलने के लिए गुब्बारे का उपयोग करना। हालाँकि, अधिकांश आधुनिक एंजियोप्लास्टी प्रक्रियाओं में प्रक्रिया के दौरान धमनी में एक छोटी तार की जालीदार नली, जिसे स्टेंट कहा जाता है, डालना भी शामिल होता है। रक्त के अधिक सुचारू प्रवाह के लिए स्टेंट को स्थायी रूप से अपनी जगह पर ही रहने दिया जाता है।
