In seance with the psychedelic rock project Jacques in the Box whose debut 5 track release 'Jack In The Box' befuddled us, gave us peace and made us sad, all at once.

Q1. How did the name Jacques In The Box come about and what’s your music all about?
Ans: We are all Jacques. Boxes there are three.
The one we are born in. The one we live in.
And the one we are trying to break out of.
That's it basically. Jacques uses ever-changing instruments and personel to express this dogma.

Q.2 How did the band form?
Ans: What band, there are only boxes. Three boxes. And we are all Jacques, never forget it (nervous laugh)

Q.3 Your profile says you formed in 2013. Where were you all this while?
Ans: In a box, obviously...

Q.4 What were the main inspirations behind the album? Why have the songs been named like they have 'Father Jack', 'Wait.., Jack', 'Slow Jack', 'Pretend, Jack', 'The Shining Light = Jack' and 'Sad Jack'?
Ans: The reply to the first question must be in the box near you. As for the songs, they tend to know their names before coming out of the box.

Q.5 If 'Jack' is Jack's debut effort then what is 'Drown'?
Ans: Jack is Chapter One. Drown is Chapter Two.

Q.6 What was the recording process like and how was the experience?
Ans: There were people in the box, at times many but mostly a few. Jacques has a hazy memory of that box. The whole experience was psychedelic now and then.

Q.7 What do you think about our society in general?
Ans: It's fu***ng great, buddy!

Q.8 Which Indian bands/artists do you admire?
Ans: Honb'le PM Narendra Modi.

Q.9 What do you think about the music scene in India, especially for your genre?
Ans: Never figured which box is the Indian music scene in... Jacques spends way too much time waiting in the corner anyways.

Q.10 Is there a Chapter 2 of the album in works?
Ans: Chapter 5 will be recorded live in a box.
