Abhyaantar Healing Arts

Abhyaantar Healing Arts Enabling healing and personal growth for individuals, groups and communities through Expressive Arts

Abhyaantar is a Sanskrit word that stands for ‘inner journey’ or ‘going inwards’

We work towards helping individuals and groups connect with their own as well as others’ inner source and unravel their authentic selves. Our practice is based on the principles and techniques of Expressive Arts Therapy (EAT), which believes in the power of the arts to give voice to suffering. The arts have been used as a medium of expression since time immemorial and their therapeutic value has been tapped in every culture. Creative expression aids us to become playful, experience emotional release and gain insight into our deepest feelings. We use a combination of visual art, dance, music, drama and creative writing therapies to enable our clients to explore and fully express various aspects of their emotional experiences. Our facilitators take immense care to establish an environment of trust and understanding, while maintaining confidentiality, in order to ensure your healing and personal growth.

*Throwback post*

Simple creative explorations in a safe, non-judgemental setting create powerful opportunities for fostering playfulness, self-awareness, empathy, and connection among teams.

In this workshop, we employed a combination of breath-work, meditative prompts and expression through visual mixed media to explore personal narratives.

Some of the most fundamental shifts that these modalities bring about in people are:
- A sense of grounding
- Calming down of the mind
- Becoming more present in the body
- Experiencing playfulness and stress release
- Accessing a new sensory language
- A holistic expression of the inner experience
- Improved self-awareness
- Shifts in perception and new insights arising from this inner expression
- An opportunity to witness and be witnessed in a new way
- Practice empathy
- Develop meaningful connections

About this session: This was our expressive arts based offering for Publicis Sapient India on occasion of their organisation wide Well-being Day event.

It is in the shift from just "being in Nature" to "being Nature itself" that the magic happens! ☘️
We are given the wisdom and shown a way for deeper connection that merges the outer and the inner.
We are given a precious gift by the Mother Earth....and our time spent in nature, with nature and as nature becomes a spiritual experience. 🏵️

“What a fulfilling expressive arts session with this amazing bunch at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi.

I have repeatedly witnessed the effortless power of the creative process to nurture awareness, gentleness, sensitivity and acceptance for oneself and others…yet I am blown away every single time I see this flowering in a session. Nothing but gratitude!🪴”

These are extraordinarily tough times for all of us.

While we are forced to isolate from each other at this time, two things that our mental health depends on the most are finding a safe outlet for difficult emotions and making meaningful connections with other humans.

Through our Creative Support Circles, we are here to hold a safe non-judgemental space for you to come together with other like minded individuals and:

* Express
* Release
* Listen
* Be heard
* Connect
* Heal
* Just breathe

These are FREE sessions. Contributions are welcome based on whatever you feel called to offer after the sessions.

Additionally, we are offering private sessions to anyone who needs them entirely FREE until May end.

Yes, it is really hard. We are all experiencing distress, panic, anxiety, fear, hopelessness, loss and grief through our own as well as the collective suffering.

It feels like all ideas of the past- the world as we have known it and the future - plans, goals, deadlines come crumbling down. The only thing that makes any sense is the present - each moment, each breath.

As legendary environmental activist, Joanna Macy puts it:
“The biggest gift you can give is to be absolutely present, and when you're worrying about whether you're hopeful or hopeless or pessimistic or optimistic, who cares? The main thing is that you're showing up, that you're here and that you're finding ever more capacity to love this world because it will not be healed without that.”

So, let this be a reminder that you are brave for showing up each day, for just being present. Be gentle with yourself, be kind to all beings and find ways to express your love - for yourself and for the world. That is the only way. ♥️
