Sensory Integration is the way our brain receives, organizes, and uses information from our 8 senses so we can move, learn, behave, and respond meaningfully.
Hum sab 5 senses jaante hain — sight, sound, touch, smell, taste.
Lekin 3 hidden senses hamare daily life ka foundation hain:
Vestibular – balance, movement, posture
Proprioception – body awareness, force & grip control
Interoception – internal body signals (bhookh, toilet, emotions, heart rate)
Jab yeh 8 senses milkar ek team ki tarah kaam karti hain,
toh dimaag sensory information ko sort, filter, aur organize karta hai —
isi process ko Sensory Integration kehte hain.
Aur jab integration smooth hoti hai,
baccha naturally:
✔ dhyaan se kaam karta hai
✔ balance maintain karta hai
✔ sahi force use karta hai
✔ social interaction mein participate karta hai
✔ transitions handle karta hai
✔ daily tasks khud se karta hai
✔ calm aur regulated rehta hai
Pencil se likhna ho, button band karna ho, khana khana ho, ya class mein dhyaan dena ho
Har activity sensory integration par depend karti hai.
But when the brain struggles to organize sensory input,
toh bachche mein dikhta hai:
meltdown
overload
poor attention
hyperactivity
touch/noise
sensitivity
inappropriate force
emotional ups & downs
Yeh behaviour problem nahi —
sensory processing difficulty hoti hai.
Sensory Integration Therapy
science-based activities (swings, heavy work, tactile play, motor planning tasks) ke through
brain ke pathways ko strong banati hai,
taaki input → processing → output
smooth, stable, aur predictable ho jaaye.
