ELSAConnect on 19 September 4 pm

*Padma Shri Dr Meenakshi Gopinath* (MG to us) needs no introduction to legions of *ELSAs*. As Principal Emerita of our college and recipient of the LSR Distinguished Alumna Award, she holds a special place in its history – as a student, as teacher and as Principal.

Active in the areas of gender and conflict resolution, human rights, civil society initiatives as well as Buddhist and Gandhian philosophy and the arts, she occupies a prominent place in both academia and activism.

What touches us deeply about *Dr Gopinath* - besides the fact that she is an ELSA - is her committed and abiding interest in making the ‘women’ of LSR - both as current and former students - *stand for and believe in what they do*. Her work in women’s engagement in building peace, in enhancing excellence and equity in education, and in women's leadership, is something that resonates with all of us.

We are very privileged to have her with us and we look forward to listening to her speak on her vision for our community of ELSAs.
