Indian Head Injury Foundation Preventing Head & Spine Injuries, Improving Pre-Hospital Care and Providing Rehabilitation

The Indian Head Injury Foundation (IHIF) was founded by His Highness Maharaja Gajsingh II of Jodhpur in February 2007, with a mission to build a comprehensive system in India for the prevention of head and spine injuries and and to provide neuro-rehabilitation to such patients and victims. Four types of Educational activities are presently conducted by IHIF:
• Primary trauma Care Courses (PTC)
• Awareness on Road Safety
• Neuro Critical Care and Home Rehab Workshops
• Neuro rehabilitation Workshops

Currently we run three high quality neuro rehabilitation centres (Jodhpur, Patna & Delhi) which provide excellent post trauma care to the needy and weaker sections of the society.

Care found wheels in Jodhpur

IHIF marked an important milestone with the launch of its first Community-Based Rehabilitation Ambulance, made possible with the support of Chola MS.

The launch ceremony was graced by HH Maharaja Gaj Singhji of Jodhpur, Chairman, IHIF, along with Mr. Mahendra Tripathi, Chola MS, medical professionals, partners, and the IHIF team.

This ambulance will help IHIF reach patients in villages and underserved areas, providing timely care, rehabilitation support, and safe transport. It will also support trauma response, outreach, screening, and community awareness programmes across Jodhpur district.

The Patna Centre Head had the opportunity to visit the MARCOS Training Group of Athletes and conducted an important awareness session.

The athletes were briefed on injury prevention strategies and the rehabilitation facilities available for them at IHIF Patna Centre in case of sports injuries.

Key points such as risk factors for sports injuries, and the importance of proper warm-up and cool-down routines were well received and appreciated by all participants.

We were delighted to be part of today’s camp at Noida Stadium.
As part of the World Disability Day (3–5 Dec) celebrations, a series of inclusive games were organized, bringing together athletes from across the country.

The IHIF team, in association with WBBF, proudly participated in the national games and conducted a free physiotherapy camp for all participating players.

Our team provided assessments, expert guidance, and on-spot treatment support, ensuring athletes could perform safely and confidently.

Delhi Rehab Centre celebrated Disability Month with an insightful awareness session followed by a fun and interactive group session for children.

The awareness session focused on sharing information about government schemes, motivating patients and caregivers, and offering guidance to help them access available support effectively.

The children’s group session aimed at building independence in daily self-care activities such as brushing, combing, buttoning, and lacing helping them grow more confident in their everyday routines.

Thank you all for being a part of the Hybrid Workshop organized by IHIF on World Disability Day.

The session focused on disability awareness, rehabilitation, mental health, and the latest advancements in assistive technology.
Experts shed light on the challenges faced by neurological patients and wheelchair users, the importance of neuro-rehab in recovery, career opportunities for PwDs, and the powerful role of a positive mindset during rehabilitation.

Patna Centre Team participated in the program organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Bihar.
Our team visited stalls of various disability associations and NGOs and appreciated the impactful work each organization is doing for the community.

Also invited wheelchair users to IHIF’s Neuro-Rehab Centre for any support they may require.

A few of our wheelchair beneficiaries attending the program requested wheelchair services, and we encouraged them to join the upcoming NeoMotion Service Camp on 15-12-2025 at PRC.

Such events contributes towards creating a more accessible and empowered future for persons with disabilities.

Good afternoon to all!

On the occasion of International PWD Day 2025, Patna Centre Team reflected on the theme of Fostering a Disability-Inclusive Society.
Mothers of children with Cerebral Palsy and stroke survivors shared the challenges they face due to the negative attitudes that still exist in society.

There is an urgent need for every citizen to bring a change by understanding disability better, showing empathy, and embracing our physically challenged brothers and sisters with dignity and respect.

Only when accessibility is ensured for persons with disabilities in every space, can we truly build a just, equitable, and inclusive society.
