Tips to include yogurt in Indian diet plan for weight loss –

•You can have a cup of plain, low fat yogurt before or after your meal.

•You can mix a fruit and flavor curd / yogurt and have it as a mid meal snack.

•You can use curd as a dressing for your simple salads .

•You can make buttermilk out of curd and drink it in between the meals whenever hungry or thirsty. This will help you in feeling full without adding up on the calories.

TIPS for controlling your weight as you age

•Don’t assume that weight gain is inevitable. With that attitude, you’ll be a lot less likely to take the necessary steps to keep your weight in check. Gaining weight in your middle years doesn’t ‘have to’ happen – and if it already has, it isn’t too late to get it under control.

•Keep up with the cardio and you could keep weight gain in check. Any exercise that gets your heart pumping is going to burn calories

•Fill up on low calorie, high-volume foods. Vegetables and whole fruits are “nutrient-dense” – which means they offer up a lot of nutrition for a relatively small calorie cost. Vegetables and whole fruits not only provide a lot of nutrients, they contain plenty of water and fiber, so they help to fill you up – not out.

•Eat protein at each meal or snack. Protein not only helps your body to build and repair muscle mass, it also helps control hunger.

•Keep a diary. A daily journal can help you to stay motivated. Keep tabs on your weight and write down what you eat, how much exercise you do and how much water you drink every day. That way, you’ll be able to track the results and rewards of your efforts.

In my opinion, lunch should be your main meal for the day. Add as much veg and fiber as you can and make it a balanced meal. Have some protein, carbs, healthy fat and veg. This will help you stay full most of the afternoon, just have a small snack two to three hours later, this will help you to control any cravings and will also fill you up not to overeat at dinner.
