ECHO India is a non-profit trust that was founded in 2008 with a mission to promote equity in healthcare and education. The organization achieves this goal by providing capacity building programs for healthcare professionals and educators. ECHO India's innovative 'Hub and Spoke' Model of learning involves a team of experts serving as the hub, mentoring and training the spokes, who are a cohort of learners This approach is facilitated through a cutting edge digital infrastructure that enables scalable and sustainable capacity building in a cost-effective manner. ECHO India aims to impact the lives of 400 million people in India by the end of 2025. To achieve this goal, in collaboration with our partners, we have launched over 400 hubs and implemented 1000 capacity-building programs that cover more than 30 disease areas. These programs have witnessed over a million attendances from healthcare workers and educators across the country, with remarkable results. The ECHO Model's 'All Teach All Learn' framework has been proven effective and has been validated by over 500 peer-reviewed articles published in renowned national and international journals, such as The New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet. ECHO India has joined forces with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and 29 state National Health Missions (NHMs), municipal corporations, nursing councils, and esteemed medical institutions across India. Some of our leading institutional partners include AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health & Neurological Sciences), NITRD (National Institute for Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases), NICPR (National Institute of Cancer Prevention & Research), Tata Memorial Hospital, and PGIMER (Post Graduate Institute for Medical Education & Research). By collaborating with these entities, ECHO India is making significant strides towards strengthening the country's healthcare system.

The Post Graduate Institute of Child Health (PGICH), Noida, in collaboration with ECHO India, successfully launched the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Academic Collaborative - Monthly Case-Based Webinar Series on April 1, 2026.
This initiative aims to strengthen pediatric cancer care capacity across Uttar Pradesh by enabling knowledge sharing, case-based learning, and collaborative discussions among postgraduate students and pediatricians across medical colleges in the state.
The inaugural session was graced by Amit Kumar Ghosh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Health & Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, who highlighted, “The ECHO model has demonstrated impact across multiple health areas, extending specialist knowledge to wider settings. Its use in pediatric hematology-oncology will enhance access to expert care and improve patient outcomes.”
The session brought together distinguished experts and practitioners, featuring a case presentation on respiratory distress in a child, diagnostic insights, and an expert talk on oncological emergencies, fostering meaningful learning and exchange.
This collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening clinical excellence, enabling continuous learning, and improving pediatric oncology care across the state.

The fight against antimicrobial resistance continues, now with focused learning in action.
Starting this April, our AMR Stewardship Programme will roll out a series of structured learning sessions for nurses, laboratory technicians, and clinicians. These sessions aim to strengthen clinical decision-making, enhance skills across healthcare teams, promote responsible antibiotic use, and generate insights to support future scale-up.

Since 2021, ECHO India has supported the Comprehensive Primary Healthcare (CPHC) capacity building of over 4,000 frontline health workers across two phases in 10 states. Now, Phase 3 is underway, aiming to reach 1,500 healthcare providers across 5 states.
ECHO India has launched the CPHC ECHO Training Program for Frontline Health Workers in Ahmedabad in collaboration with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), which will strengthen service delivery at Urban Health and Wellness Centres.
The programme aims to train 400 ASHAs, ANMs, and Staff Nurses, with three batches already launched, two for nurses and one for ANMs across Khadia, Saijpur, Vastral, and Behrampura. It marks the beginning of a sustained learning network built on mentorship and case-based learning to enhance service delivery across key public health domains, ensuring improved access, quality, and outcomes at the community level.

What does it take to make classrooms truly inclusive?
Through the Ummeed Inclusive Education ECHO Program, educators came together to explore disability-inclusive education, equity, diversity in classrooms, and Universal Design for Learning. Using the ECHO model’s case-based discussions, participants were able to engage with real challenges and adapt learning to their own contexts.

ECHO India concluded the Cervical and Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Care Capacity Building Program for Nursing Professionals with a National Dissemination Meet in New Delhi on 24th March.
Supported by Optum India, the program has enhanced clinical skills and caregiving capabilities, helping nurses recognize early warning signs, support timely diagnoses, and guide patients through their cancer journey.

Project ECHO® (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) was founded by Dr. Sanjeev Arora in New Mexico in 2003 as a model to deliver and extend equitable healthcare and other critical resources to the world’s most vulnerable populations. Following its success, the ECHO model was then launched in India in 2008.
Today, ECHO India is a fast-growing non-profit organization working towards bridging gaps in healthcare & education with backing by funders such as Co-Impact, Tata Trusts, Goradia Foundation among many others.
Leveraging our knowledge-sharing platform within the framework of the ECHO principles, our goal is to replicate and support Project ECHO® programs in India with an aim to demonopolize knowledge and amplify capacity.
As on date, ECHO India has 30+ prestigious academic institutions as partners running ECHO programs in 20+ focus areas in more than 55 cities across the country.
ECHO India has also received the full support of the Indian Govt with a signed MoU from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and is involved with a number of government-initiated programs aimed at bringing universal health coverage in India.
